Nakia writes from the depths of her heart, passion, and previous experiences. She also speaks on legacies, happy and sad moments, and what roots are we spurting up (Tree). The Author Nakia R. Laushaul loves God, life and family. She is a strong woman and has captured this strength in her poetry book "The Truth As I See It: In Poetry & Prose". Picked this up on a whim and was moved by several of her prose pieces. It starts out a little rough. I think as one reads through the book, Nakia becomes more at ease with herself and her poetic style. Many writings are gruff yet honest. I was moved by many of her "finding" and "in love poetry." A fun and fast read.
