Cheese!! Glorious cheese!! I love it!!! This time I wanted to slap the main guy for being such a doormat to such a stubborn woman!!

This was the first time I had read this book and you have to remember to read it in the context of a book that is over 30 years old. You cannot read it as a contemporary romance or you will gnash your teeth and start drinking. Brown is a very good author and when she wrote this, styles were very different. She probably pushed the boundary a bit by having a heroine who was so much her own woman by having a powerful job, one that wasn't beholden to a male for direction. This story was a case of lo [...]

More from the summer of romance (and this book is rated on my five star romance scale)As I plow through the romance genre, I decided to pick up another book of a well known, somewhat old school romance writer. Although I don't think I'll be picking up most of Ms. Brown's back list, I was not disappointed. She is a skilled story teller who kept things moving and really made want to head to Hilton Head island immediately. I didn't love the book because I did not like the characters very much. The [...]

Temptation's Kiss is another early book by Sandra Brown. I did enjoy this one. I liked Josh's character better than Megan's. I thought she was a bit wimpy for the "tough" business woman that she was trying to make herself into. I also thought she was a bit naive when it came to her late husband. This may be be the result of the time in which it was written. I liked Josh's pursuit of Megan. It's always nice to see the man know what he wants when it comes to love; none of this, "do I or don't I. T [...]

My mother and I share an account for Kindle books. She purchased this and after reading the premise of the book, I decided to give it a go. The main character, Megan, is irritatingly petulant and I often found her thought process to be somewhat irrational. The often combative nature of the courtship makes me wonder how they could even stand to be in one another’s presence. The love interest, Josh - what a pompous douche with colossal boundary issues. Definitely a guy that can not take no for [...]

Light Hearted romantic novel. Definitely the sort of book to snuggle up with in front of the fire or take to the beach to enjoy some relaxation time.

  • Marianne

Short book chock full of pithy, trite, over used romantic nonsense. This book was simply awful! Not up to Browns standards.

Before I "review", I'd like to first mention that this was the very first audio book I have ever listened to and that this is only the second time I have read a romance novel of this type (i.e. Harlequin-like). With that being said, my review will be based mostly on how the book made me feel and honestly, I can't recall a time a book had me full out laughing and giggling. Now this book was in no way meant to be funny. It was supposed to be a tantalizing developing relationship between Meghan and [...]

This book was well written and fits right in with romance books from the time of it's original release. It kept me entertained and I wasn't bored for a moment in this book. Brown is a great writer. I didn't really like the characters though. Megan's blaming Josh for her husbands death seemed a completely blind need to blame anyone. He just played scape goat for her and while I could get the need for someone to blame in a loss like that her behavior was beyond rude at times. I just couldn't get b [...]

I was kind of disappointed in this book, being a huge fan of Sandra Brown novels in general. This is definitely a romance novel, rather than her more thriller novels, which is fine. My biggest problem was that the female protagonist was very wishy-washy through the whole book and the male protagonist had very little character development, in terms of an identifying cause to his miraculous change at the end of the book. Josh starts as a chauvinist, and somehow, by the end of the book, he's actual [...]

This book is a fast read. It is pretty much without a plot, except for the girl to play hard to get, and the guy to be super determined. The first half of the book is full of sexual harrassment and unwanted sexual assaults. However when the "strong willed woman", is asked to identify what harrasment she has suffered she can't. Then the "strong willed woman" tries a stupid game of "leading him on, and then hurt him by dropping him". Not well thought out, and definetly putting herself at risk if sh [...]

This book was with the book that I received, definitely so far a romance, and only 220 plus pages, started it as i have 5 more books to read for my goal. so far I recommend it. Anyone know how to add the title of books won? Saw it once and don't know what or where I saw it? Well Megan is a big time hot shot in advertising and for the sake of her, tries to avoid an associate in another department. With the history behind them, try to figure out if it was meant to be,what she is really capable of, [...]

I love Sandra Brown's novels. This classic romance was fine for one of its genre. I found it annoying that the dust jacket summary suggested the heroine worked for a radio station, when the book clearly had her at a television station (otherwise, why all the visual ads?) I also have difficulty with people choosing to drink wine "on the rocks". Maybe it was cool in 1983? I was little then, and have no idea.but overall, the story is interesting.

  • Joyce

For a Sandra Brown romance this was a good read. I thought there was quite a bit of "blaming" going on, maybe even over the top. Megan seemed to have a very distorted sense of what was fair in the blame game. Could have been toned down a bit and still been a good story. And I've never heard of a man that would have put up with all her mess as long as he did, even if he was in love. All in all it was a quick and easy read and like all romance novels we know how it's going to end.

Written in 1983 and it shows. This guy from 1983 was slightly creepy and domineering. A woman today would never put up with his behavior once she found out his scheme. (I hope.) This is Sandra Brown and she can write her characters in a way they always give in to love. In this case, a second chance at love for both characters. These characters just didn't work for me. He pulled the strings and she was his puppet.

This was a quick read. I liked the characters and how they were portrayed in the book. Its a basic romance book of a man knowing what he wants and waiting for the opportunity to impress and encourage a younger female. Her role was hard to get as she was confused with her husband passing away. You can see that she has matured and understands more as the book goes on.

This is a story of love at first sight. The night before her wedding Megan shares a passionate kiss with Josh, one of her husband-to-be's best friends. Shocked by her response and feeling disloyal, Megan manages to avoid Josh after the marriage, only to find herself pursued by Josh after her husband succumbs to a coronary a year later.

  • Karen Whooley

Megan, young widow and workaholic at a television station, desperately tries to avoid her late husband's former boss - with whom she once shared a kiss - but Josh wants her again and will stop at nothing to have her.

Was so dated - the only reason I finished it was because I hate to not finish books. The narrator did not perform well for the main male character. I doubt it would have been better if I had actually read it though.

  • Marian

even allowing for the fact this was written about 30 years ago the heroine just got on my nerves for being such a whiny baby. hated her through the whole book but had to finish to reach my goal for the year.

  • Amber Dickinson

This was a good story with likeable characters and as the title suggests: a LOT of kissing! I received this book as a Giveaway along with A Treasure Worth Seeking. Thanks Sandra for the bonus!!

  • Aarann

I skipped over three chapters to the last chapter because I hated the heroine so much. Luckily, she semi-redeemed herself at the end, which is why this book got 2 stars and not one. Still, I don't regret skipping those chapters and won't be picking this one up again.

love story, very detailed. Megan meets Josh the night before she marries James. After a year James suddenly dies. Josh gives her 3 years and starts pursuing her, she doesn't like him and does everythign she can to avoid his advances, but is eventually aware of the truth that she loves him.

  • Maura

The story is about a woman who is being pursued by her dead husband's boss. The woman is very successful and thinks that she has earned a promotion based on merit but our alpha male lead has plotted the seduction for three years.

Sometimes the library has very little to choose from when I'm looking for an audiobook for commutes or to play while I sew, and normally I can suffer through some pretty bad stuff. But this is literally terrible and I can't go on. Immediately returned.

  • Debbie Nevitt

All sex and no plot. Disappointing.

  • Bree

Not a fan of this book, but I'm too big of a Sandra Brown fan to list the many reasons why.

  • Julie Butler ford

    I couldn't get into it

  • Dawn Archambault

It was an enjoyable book with a lot of spelling errors.

  • Wendy Soliman

In a word, disappointing. Not up to her usual high standard.
