The 2nd book in A Card-Making Mystery. I prefer to read a series in order but I had this book and was in a cozy mystery mood. Jennifer owns a card making store in a small town in northern VA. When a member of her card making club dies in a car accident and Jennifer receives a handmade card from the dead woman saying someone is trying to murder her she and her aunt Lillian begin investigating. Who murdered their friend and will that person try to kill Jennifer and Lillian?

Note: the description that talks about underwater diving does not go with this book.Cute idea. Unfortunately for this series, the main character is just not like able. Rude, abrasive, and defensive, and don't even ask about her love life. From giving out mixed signals to seriously over reacting to flat out man hating. Ugh, I managed to finish the book, but just barely.Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books1 star [...]

I only got halfway through the book, but had to quit when the main character gets huffy when asked out on a date by her new neighbor. "you're not totally repulsive, but believe me when I tell you that you're not that nice and you're certainly not good-looking enough to make it worth my while to take your problems on, too." Can we say obnoxious? I think we can.It didn't help that I was bored or that the main character is apparently just so great that her ex-boyfriend wants to date her again, a de [...]

This is book two in the Cardmaking mystery series, and it too has a decent plot, amusing side characters, and made for a nice evening’s read. The author tends to go a bit far into the wacky, but stops herself before she goes too far. All in all, another nice read and a mental note has been added to get further books in the series as they come out.

Enjoyed this book although there were some parts that seemed to drag a bit, more detail than I cared to have at the moment - guess in the long run it explained how everyone interacted with each other. Was a fun read and we all know how the romance part ended.

  • Susan

This was a quick fun cozy to read - tips on papercrafting, some interesting characters, and a simple plot - but not very absorbingas a mystery.

  • Loni

    nice rainy day read

  • Marti

A mystery combined with paper crafts! Right up my alley.

  • Sue

not really noteworthy, but a fun and fast whodunit.

  • Mich

another 'card-making' series book. quick lite read with card-making tips thrown in

  • Kathy

Not as good as the first one. Character was obnoxious at times. Some inconsistencies.

  • Rebecca

Owner of card making store solves a murder

  • Kelly

I liked this book and read it in one day. I didn't think it was quite as good as the first one, but it was still enjoyable.

  • Jackie

This series is fun especially if you like card making. Will read the 3rd for sure
