I chose this book because my mom recommend this book to me and i like the cover and the word stink bomb.I did not see the movie because i don't know if there is one and if there was i would go see it.I loved the setting a lot.It was described very well you could picture it in your head. But you don't feel like you are in the book though.I like other books that have the same setting as this one.I loved the characters and loved Horrid Henry the most he is funny and dumb sometimes.I did not like Moo [...]

I was looking for an author with my initials for a Book Club challenge, when a friend suggested Francesca Simon and her Horrid Henry.Henry is a regular horrid boy in a regular British school. And this book tells his 4 horrible adventures(?) with his school mates. It was quite amusing to read of Henry's horridness. I hope he grows up well! But also look forward to read more of his horrid stories. :D

I'd give this book 0 stars if I could. It was the worst book I've ever read and I actually regret reading it to my 6yo. The book says that it has laugh-out-loud stories. I didn't laugh once. In fact, I was appalled that anyone would think it was funny. The only thing the author got right is that Henry truly is horrid. Children don't need to be reading books about this kind of behaviord worst, to think it's funny. (view spoiler)[In the first story, Henry cheats and lies about a reading contest an [...]

Although the Horrid Henry series is not a personal recommendation but my daughter is a huge fan. Here is one from the collection we recently read together. Key stage one children seem to be addicted to these books but if it gets them to enjoy reading then it is fine by me.A stinkbomb becomes a deadly weapon in Horrid Henry's long-running war with Moody Margaret; he uses all his power to win the school reading competition, only to find the longed-for prize is not what he expected; he goes for a s [...]

Once again, I find myself reading Horrid Henry. I have loved some of these, and hated others. This one falls right in the middle. I really like the first and third stories (especially the silly slapping incident, heehee) but the second one was just annoying instead of funny, and the final story was just weird (not in a good way). This series has been frustrating to read -- some have been wonderful, some have been terrible, and some -- like this one -- are just okay. *sigh*

This book wasn't great. It certainly wasn't funny, which it claimed to be. The illustrations were really lacking. My five year old and I managed to read the entire book, so it had to have positive qualities somewhere.

  • Amy Brown

The book that I read had this title but was actually a collection of Horrid Henry tales (with Horrid Henry's Stinkbomb being one of them). Kids who like Rotten School or Horrible Harry books will enjoy this beginning chapter book series.
