"Dark Network" is the second in the Imogen Trager series and follows on from the first book "Faithless Elector" both written by author James McCrone.FBI Agent Trager helped exposed the Faithless Elector plot and we now follow her as she is tasked with a fight against time and a sinister network to defeat the conspiracy to steal the presidency. Can she trust her own colleagues and even if she is successful what kind of America will remain?I liked Imogen's character - she has good instincts, deter [...]

Review:Dark Network is the second installment in the “Imogen Trager” series by author James McCrone. It’s an electric political drama and thriller that is brilliantly written and timely, due to our own political upheavals concerning the recent presidential election. The main character and spirited heroine, Imogen Trager, is single-minded and unwavering in this extremely entertaining and suspenseful thriller. She frantically works to stop a deadly secret and complex network that is set on un [...]

I won this book just a few weeks ago from giveaway. I really enjoyed this book. It is a timely non-partisan mystery dealing with the attempt to fix a presidential election. Some in the FBI are compromised thus creating a climate of suspicion within the agency. Electors are threatened if they refuse to change their votes. Some are murdered. Although this is the 2nd in a series, it works well as a stand-alone. Hopefully there will be a book three.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I'm not much for mysteries but a friend recommended this author to me. I couldn't put it down. The book was fast-paced, featured strong female characters, and had a timely subject matter. Loved it.

Very exciting and exquisitely detailed! I loved this story! Wounded as she is, Imogen is an amazing character, she is so real! The entire book sings with organic authenticity. Every character at any level is very believable.Author James McCrone shows a very deft hand at scene setting, action and detailed dialogue. He shows a deep understanding of many topics and technical aspects of his story. I felt like I was an insider during the entire investigation. The suspense kept me on the edge of my se [...]

This novel is written so well that as a reader all the political machinations are truly believable in the climate we are currently living in today. Told from various third person points of view there is an abundance of intrigue and suspense. An examination into the American Electoral Process that has been tampered with by a cabal made up of incongruent diabolical players. A bona fide enjoyable page turning thriller. Featuring a resilient female protagonist as well as a diverse and deep-seated ca [...]

This was for me a 3.5 rating. I really enjoyed the mystery and how Imogen and Trey unearthed and tracked the bad guys. I found that I couldn't put the book down in parts as I was keen to see what happened next and how they would discover the unknown members of the conspiracy. The two things, for me, that stopped me giving it full marks were a) the constant references to the Faithless Elector. I know it was my mistake not to have read the previous novel first but I thought this might have been ok [...]

A book received through giveaways.I had a hard time getting into this book as the plot develops early on and proceeds at a quick pace and I do not think I every really caught up. Part of the problem for me is a lack of full understanding of the American political process and the fact that I had not read the author's previous work "Faithless Elector" which I believe would have given me a good start with the characters in this book. I found the plot line to be complex with multiple characters tha [...]
