    This is an encompassing history of the evolution of cameras and photography, which should interest amateur and professional photographers. I just love history and looking at old photographs and enjoyed this one because it combines the two, with a focus on Alabama. So it's a win/win/win type of book for me.

    This book is excellent! Comprehensive, with impeccable research, is the best way to truly describe the outcome of Mrs. Robb's twenty-five year search for images, and her research of them. There are at least 150 photographs, tintypes, Daguerrotypes, ambrotypes, etc. included and discussed as to events around the origin of the photo itself, information about the photographer if he or she is known, and a history of the origin of the people/scene itself where research has successfully found them, or [...]
