Who wants some beautiful quotes??"A society in which women are taught anything but the management of a family, the care of men, and the creation of the future generation is a society which is on its way out."How about:'The historian can peg the point where a society begins its sharpest decline at the instant when women begin to take part, on an equal footing with men, in political and business affairs, since this means that the men are decadent and the women are no longer women. "VOMIT.

Another easy to read book that aims to help man attain his goals of happiness and survival in a world that is devoid of such things.

I'm on chapter 9 and may already be sucked into the cult. It makes sense y'all!

I am not really interested in becoming a Scientologist. I was just curious about it since you only hear negative things in the media. As a Latter-day Saint, I am well aware that people's beliefs can be misrepresented and don't want to be responsible for "persecuting" anyone myself. This was a pretty good collection of essays about a smattering of subjects. I still have only a vague idea of what Scientology is except buying L. Ron Hubbard's books and courses. I don't mean that as a criticism. I ju [...]

This book is explaining the meaning of Scientology and what it is made up of. This book is about a Scientologist himself explaining how Scientology could be the new evolution in life.He is answering a whole lot of questions that could be asked about being a Scientologists. L. Ron. Hubbard is trying to get the point across that Scientology could become a big thing in someones life. Like other religions such as, Christian, Muslim, Catholic. Ands so on and so forth. He is trying to tell us that Sc [...]

At first I was skeptical that this book would reveal anything to me. But just as any dialogue with one's self and another in the form of a written work, something awakes. There is a lot of theories that I find very solid in this volume. There seemed to be a vagueness though, and I haven't gotten into the things that Scientology teaches but after reading this I may. This seemed more of the precursor, or advertisement, less of the meat and bones of the belief system.

Reading this just makes me mad. If there were such a thing as evil, L Ron Hubbard is it.

  • Andy Nolch

Wow! What an interesting book. I do feel after reading it like I know a lot more about life and am wiser. I can use this information at work. We need this taught at high school!

    lol scientology

Picked this up in a bargain bin hoping for a laugh, and instead I got a masterclass in rhetoric and logical fallacies. He scathingly describes the idiot press and fakeness of psychologists who are out to get him and that only the truly enlightened man can love the people who aren't enlightened. He tells you to not accept anything a scientist tells you at face value, demand facts and inspect them thoroughly for yourself; then constantly tells you that scientology can fix all without a single word [...]

I read this book and was stunned at the authors understanding of how life actually IS.It couldnt have a better title as the chapters take apart various situations in life and leave you with a much greater understanding of it. it definitly is a new slant , and probably one you havent looked at yourselfally very happy i bought and read this.

Actually not the most wackjob book. Most of it is sort of jargonized common sense. True to the title, I suppose. Hubbard's note at the end wherein he recommends simply avoiding the news for a few weeks and then check in on your happiness seems to be an extremely effective piece of advice.

I am not a Scientologist. I found this book at a friends house; he is not a Scientologist either but a journalist and got this book for free when he went to a meeting for research. Perhaps that is my first fault in picking up this book: I do not believe a word of what L. Ron Hubbard says, nor do I understand most of what he says, and I have no-one to ask. But this does not erase the fact that I could not get through this book! I could only get about 1/3 through, it was so bad.For one thing the b [...]

When I started this book, I half expected to find some somewhat original and impressive insights ( I assumed there would have to be such insights to inspire a religion). Yet, none to find here. Although this work stumbles upon its occasional truth, its most profound claims are the most profoundly untrue - Namely, that man has conquered the universe. That "if there is any saintly quality , it is NOT to forgive" because "forgiveness accepts the badness of the act". That "Good is survival", and tha [...]

This book is nothing short of amazing. The author really knew what he was talking about. All of the principles in the book can be very easily tested, and I was able to see for myself how well they work. I think that was the whole point of the book, to give the reader tools to use in life to improve conditions. I can say that it has definitely done that for me. I would say that one shouldn't read this book unless they actually are trying to fix something or improve something in their life. Just r [...]

I love the simplicity of this book! It gave me a really simple understanding of the basics of why I was doing certain things which I knew were not effective and why certain conditions in my life were not the best, and – most importantly – how easy it is to change things myself so that I can be happier and more effective with everyday life and work. I would recommend this book to anyone as a perfect starting reference to what Scientology is all about, and how it can help anyone do better in l [...]

He says "Pain, misemotion, unconsciousness, insanity, all result from causing things others could not experience easily."If only he had not added the word "easily" on to the end of that statement he may have actually found himself a good point.Triple thumbs down.

  • Jennifer Atkins

Wow. What a wonderful, mind changing book. Simple to read.

Done the course and read this book. Very satisfied. Another enjoyable read

  • Felicity Chambers

  • Casey Donovan
