I received this book via GoodReads Giveaways.I liked the plot of this book. I wouldn't say it was startlingly original, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. It was a little like a mash-up of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Vampire Diaries (both of which I am a big fan). Celeste Wilder is called on her 18th birthday to protect the world from evil creatures. Also, she meets 2 vampire brothers who are "good", there is a love triangle for about 5 seconds, and she then she falls desperately in love wit [...]

Solid YA Paranormal BookWilder begins by introducing the reader to Celeste Wilder, a high school senior going through the last couple weeks of school when her world completely changes. We learn that Celeste's family is linked to the supernatural world (don't want to reveal how and spoil it), and she begins to encounter certain supernatural beings. Namely, the Constantin brothers. :)The plot in Wilder is pretty solid. It has everything young adult readers enjoy: mystery, romance, action, etc. I o [...]

I'll start by saying I don't typically read vampire books. I may not have picked this up if I realized that's what it was - but I'm glad I did. I actually found myself enjoying it. Yes, there were many many similarities to certain other vampire franchises, but they still added to the story. Celeste comes from an ancient family of guardians, set to protect the human race from all forms of evil, only she doesn't know it yet. Her father, who should have been there to explain it and train her, is lo [...]

    Liked the characters. Good story

Blown away! I absolutely LOVED this book! Reading paranormal/supernatural is my cup of tea! Let me just say this book did NOT disappoint AT ALL! This just might be my new favorite YA Paranormal series. So, so good! If you loved the show/book series Vampire Diaries, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, or even True Blood, I highly recommend you pick this book up. Some elements in this book even reminded me of The Mortal Instruments a bit. All I can say is I highly suggest you read this one! I don't understa [...]

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review*Well Wilder was a good read. Not too much outstanding but good. Celeste Wilder was very young when her father died In an "accident" while doing his investigation job. Her life is no more the samw with her mom working most of her time as nurse and the only good time pass for her was her best friend since childhood Brian and his family dinners where she is treated no less than a family. High school was about to end and she was all set to go t [...]

Wilder: The Guardian Series by G.K. De RosaI was given this book to review by the author.De Rosa's first installment in her Guardian series is an interesting take on Vampire and Vampire Hunter stories. The only reason I have not given this a higher rating was because I found the beginning to be a bit slow and really did not get into it until about half-way through the novel. That being said, the main characters are well-developed and intriguing. As this is the first book, I understand a lot of ex [...]

Let's go :DThe Story( Blurb)All that Celeste Wilder ever wanted was to find someone who would sweep her off her feet like she had seen in countless romantic movies. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.College girl, Celeste doesn’t know it yet, but she is from a long line of guardians, defenders of the world from all things supernatural, mostly vampires. Living with her mother (her father died some years before), she lives quite an ordinary life in the small American town of Oak Bluffs hanging out with her two best friends Brian and Natalie. All of a sudden two brothers come in to her life. The Constantin’s, both broody and ha [...]

I was given a copy of this book in return for an honest review. If you love Buffy the Vampire Slayer you will definitely love Wilder. Wilder is a tale of a young girl Celeste—your average American teen ready to take that next step into college life—or at least that’s what she believes herself to be, until she begins having terrifying dreams filled with monsters, visions of her late father, and two mysterious brothers (Roman and Nico Constantin) move to town. After literally running into Rom [...]

The best YA novel I've read in a long time I just finished reading Wilder: The Guardian Series by G.K. DeRosa. This book reminded me a lot of the Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith. The story has two handsome brothers that have fates destined to intertwine with the female heroine, Celeste. As far as her writing style, G.K. DeRosa reminded me of Stephanie Meyer. The story was easy to follow, and the read was really quick. About halfway through the book, I didn’t want to put it down. I love the twist [...]

  • Beyond the Pages

Wilder was quite the read. As a YA, I thought it was clean, suspense-filled, sweet on passion, and aces for a competent female lead. It started with just enough punch to keep me reading. Pacing was fair to good throughout. Character variation was good, also. The lead males, Roman and Nico, were oh so perfect. I loved them! Although I was left with questions, I can say that I was still pleased with the outcome. Rating: 3.5/5Recommend: YesAudience: YAChemistry/Intensity: YesConflict/Drama: YesFami [...]

Read this in preparation to beta the sequel. I ended up really enjoying it, and so far the sequel is even better!

I like this book and most of the characters, of course, those that I don't like are supposed to be unlikeable. Many secrets and twists.

This was the first book that I've read by G.K. DeRosa, and I was pleasantly surprised. It didn't have a slow start, but I wasn't sure how intrigued I would end up being, and it turned out to be a good read. It has a lot of the classics, human girl loves supernatural creature, love triangle, bad guy trying to hurt girl (and guys), but puts a nice spin on it. I liked how Celeste came into her role as a Guardian and that you get to experience the book as she discovers what that means; you weren't t [...]

Not badThis book was ok, but I am not sure I will finish the series. It was an easy read, but it just didn't suck me in.

  • Lisa Eiff

I really enjoyed reading this book. For fans of the fantasy genre, you may already be a bit familiar with the premise behind many of the characters' relationship paradigms used here, but I was glad to see the author was still able to put a new twist to the situations as the book progresses. If you are a fan of fantasy books, enjoy reading about vampires, and are curious to learn about 'the Guardians' as a new supernatural race of sorts, I'd highly recommend checking out this book.

I was a given a free copy of this book through the We ❤️ YA Books! group in exchange for an honest review. To start off the review, I would like to say that I rather enjoyed this book. To be honest, I wasn't quite sure if I would enjoy it a lot when I first started the book. But I was proven wrong. This story follows our protagonist named Celeste, who is a young girl dreaming of going to New York, and wanting to spend her last summer with her friends. Sounds normal enough, but it's far from [...]

Wilder follows Celeste, a teenage girl who lives in the pretty average suburb of Oak Bluffs. All seems normal for Celeste, being on the verge of graduating and moving on to the next chapter of her life, until the appearance of the mysterious and handsome Constantine brothers, Nico and Roman. Everything Celeste thought she knew about her life is about to be challenged when she is confronted with the truth behind her father’s death and what it means to be his daughter. With a heavy responsibilit [...]

Celeste Wilder captured my heart from the first page!G.K. DeRosa writes with an overwhelming knowledge of what makes a great book come to life - emotion and the natural flowing dialogue doesn't hurt. From the first sentence, I found myself lost in the emotion. My heart ached for Celeste as she skidded through her life after her dad died. The nightmares that plagued her dreams were filled with detail, so much, I felt my heart race along with hers as she ran for her life and felt her uncertainty whe [...]

I was a given a free copy of this book through the We ❤️ YA Books! group in exchange for an honest reviewSo first I have to say that there were many things that I liked about this book. I liked that you got more than one perspective even though it jumped rather randomly and there was no warning that there was a change it was fairly easy to tell that the perspective had changed and who it changed to. Although the concept of the hunter is not new, I like the guardian aspect, I feel like this e [...]

I was given a free copy through the We <3 YA Books group on in exchange for an honest review.Celeste Wilder is a likable, well-rounded girl thrown into an impossible situation. She has an important responsibility thrust upon her along with the sudden knowledge of a world she always assumed was imaginary. She finds love, but it is not without its consequences. She has hard choices to make and handles everything thrown her way brilliantly.I really enjoyed this story. It encapsulated everything [...]

Celeste, a rather normal high school senior in a little town has been chosen to be the new guardian. She will have to protect humanity against supernatural evil, which we don't see but that surrounds us all the time. Trying to protect her are two young vampires. Yes, young, they are hardly more than 100 years old, and that is teen age for vampires. The story is amusing, not badly told. I just have to deal with my usual sense of logic and it is very difficult to change the usual rules without leav [...]

  • Merissa (Archaeolibrarian)

This is a Young Adult Paranormal Vampire book, with a complimentary tip of the hat to Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the TV series, not the film as it states in the book!). Celeste has nearly finished high school, and has her life planned out. Two brothers show up in town and her life takes on a dramatic twist. The writing style is smooth, the pace is steady and the storyline builds to the satisfying conclusion. The only problem I had was that sometimes, with no warning, the perspective would change [...]

There are a lot of things that happened in this book and to me personally, it is kinda predictable. If you are looking for a romance, action pack book, give this one a try. This is a spoiler free review. We follow Celeste Wilder who does not know anything about her family legacy and got stir up in this situation and it changes how she sees the world around her. I like her writing style in this book and I hope there are more interested events in the next book. Some of the events are quite predictab [...]

I really enjoyed this book. Having read the Novella Serching for Wilder before this gave me a good insight into Nico's frame of mind as one of the many main characters. The story flowed well and had a good pace which was easy to read and follow with very little effort. The characters were well written and the change of POV throughout allowed for the different angles and experiences during the action scenes.Personally i would have liked a little more description of the characters themselves and th [...]

I received this book in exchange for an honest review through Read 2 Review. My opinions are my own and I promise I never give stars willie-vanilly.At first I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this book. I don't do love triangles, but I really like the idea of helping other authors out. So I went into it with an open mind, hoping my love triangle phobia wouldn't cloud my judgment.I'm happy to say it didn't. DeRosa's is such a good author that I was able to completely forget about my prejudice. Her [...]

These revelations submerge Celeste into a world she never knew existed. I really enjoyed G K DeRosa’s take on the supernatural world [...]

the story was interesting which is the main reason that I gave it four stars.d the characters we're likeable. although I think the story itself was poorly written the plot was different from that of a regular teen vampire story. it is an interesting plot.ever the only reason I think it was poorly written was because there we're not a lot of details throughout. it seemed very fast paced and ended suddenly without any explanationsme of the things in the story could have been detailed a little bett [...]
