5 Words: Paris, love, Christmas, relationships, books. This was a perfect Christmas story and a fantastic continuation of Sarah and Ridge's story from The Bookshop on the Corner. It was also the perfect introduction to the Little Paris collection and I will absolutely be reading on.From the very first page, that was me. Sucked right in. This book is pretty magical, perfect for the festive season. But it is also startlingly realistic. It isn't a fairy-tale. It has me craving gingerbread lattes and [...]

The Little Bookshop on the Seine by Rebecca Raisin is a 2016 Carina Press UK publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher/author and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I fell in love with Rebecca Raisin’s Gingerbread Café novels and so it is a no brainer that I would follow her straight to her next series with eager anticipation. While this story has a holiday theme, it can be enjoyed any time of the year because love and romance are always in season. This story c [...]

This is the first Rebecca Raisin I have read and it feels like the second in a series, although the product description does say “The Little Paris Collection #1”, so don’t quote me on that – it is just that you get the feeling of a past story right from page one. Sarah Smith is a small town American who has never travelled much beyond Ashford, the quintessential small town she grew up in. Until now, that is, when she is offered the chance to “swap book shops” for six months. She will [...]

I have no idea how Rebecca Raisin does it, but she keeps writing enchanting heart warming stories, that you never want to end, and The Little Bookshop on the Seine is no exception. This is such a loving story, with some stunning descriptions of Paris. In fact this is Paris in the run up to Christmas, and not just the tourists Paris, we are taken to all manner of local secret places, as Sarah becomes more comfortable in Paris, and her French improves. Sarah is amazed, as am I , about the The Litt [...]

Let me begin by saying how much I LOVE this cover! I would have to say it's my favorite of 2015 to date! The colors are amazing, Sarah looks amazing and the Paris back drop couldn't be more beautiful. As I have stated in some of my tweets, after reading this piece I am planning a trip to Paris! The details that Rebecca used in regards to the city alone paint the most amazing picture and I truly felt as though I was there and could imagine everything that Sarah was seeing!I am jealous of Ms. Sarah [...]

What a delightful gem of a story, thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish and such lovable characters. I've not been lucky enough to have had the chance to visit Paris yet, but having read this book, I now feel that I have been. The way in which the author Rebecca set the scenes and described all the different places within Paris,  is just felt so real and bought it all to life. I'll definitely be reading more books by this author. Looking forward to them already.

Posted in full reviewedthebook/2015 The Little Bookshop on the Seine is the start of Rebecca Raisin’s new series, although we do get the added bonus of familiar names and characters from Rebecca’s previous books. Although it was only partly set at Christmas (towards the end), rather than being a Christmas novel like the synopsis suggests, it still had that sparkly, wintery glow to it – an ideal book to snuggle up with in the cold winter months. Set in Paris instead of the comforting Ashfor [...]

Cute lil Christmassy cozyI love this cute lil Christmassy romantic cozy. Just perfect for a cold winter day to cuddle up with a blanket & a Christmas tree near by! Loved all the cute characters from both Ashford & Paris! Can’t wait to read the next book!

Sarah Smith feels like something is missing. She's got her bookstore, her friends, her books, and Ridge Warner, but she's no longer satisfied with it all. Then she gets a call from a fellow bookstore owner, Sophie, who interests Sarah with the idea of a bookstore swap. Without much thought, Sarah trades spaces with Sophie and moves to Paris to run Once Upon a Time. She's got a list of items on her bucket list she'd like to complete while there, along with spend some quality time with Ridge while [...]

Once again Rebecca Raisin has manged to charm and enchant us with another brilliant story. I'm also not going to put a spoiler tag in this review. The book starts off with our main character Sarah putting up a 50% off sign on her bookstore. A romance about loving romance. Not my thing at all but the low rating is because of a different reason. First of all, I bought this book by mistake. I was after another title with the word "bookshop" in it. I decided to beach-read it anyways since I paid my 0.99 for it. It appeared to be very predictable and full of cliches. Second of all, using Paris as background is the biggest cliche the book features. It would have been more interesting if the setting was a less "spent" destination. Third, [...]

This author is one of my favorites. She consistently puts out a great story and develops amazing characters. This book is just another chapter.Sarah Smith, who we have met in previous books, develops so beautifully when she takes over a bookshop in Paris. The sights, scents and moods are brought to life so well that if I closed my eyes I thought I was there. She has some issues, of course, but she is willing to take on anything that comes her way.NetGalley and Carina UK provided this book in exc [...]

Recensione presente nel blog ragazzainrosso.wordpressSarah vive in una piccola cittadina del Connecticut ed è proprietaria di una libreria che attualmente sembra navigare in cattive acque. A sweet read , though I felt the characters needed a bit more fleshing out. I loved Beatrice as a character and the interaction between her and Sarah. what I loved most was the descriptions of one of my favourite cities Paris. it was wonderfully romanticized and brought back some lovely memories.

As soon I settled down to read this book I knew it was one that was going to draw me in, from the very first page I adored this novel. This is the first of Rebecca’s books I have read and it’s definitely not going to be my last, she has such a wonderful way of conjuring up the places you are reading about. From the moment Sarah sets foot in Paris I could feel myself right there alongside her, from the busy rush rush of the train station to the calmness and emotion that is brought about viewin [...]

I just quit this at the 3/4 mark. I could not go on. By far the worst book I have read in forever. The story was so silly and poorly written. I’m happy to read cheesy and somewhat unbelievable romances occasionally, especially around the holidays, but this was really terrible. Errors in the writing and terribly written minor characters-yuck. Just glad I only paid 99cents. I cannot believe how anyone rated this one above 3 stars max!

"I believed my books communicated with me. A soft sigh here as they stretched their bindings when dawn broke, or a hum, as the anticipated a customer hovering close who might run a hand along their cover, tempting them to flutter their pages hello. Books were fussy when it came to their owners, and gave off a type of sound, an almost imperceptible whirr, when the right person was near. Most people weren't aware that books chose us, at the time when we needed them most." Need I say more - love, l [...]

Once again Rebecca Raisin has made the atmosphere in this book so Christmassy. I could feel Christmas oozing from the pages of this book and loved every minute of it. I could almost smell the books in the little Paris bookshop and picture all the rooms used in it. A fantastic read with lots of feeling.

  • Yvonne Morgan

This book was a real page turner. Much more substance to it than your usual festive read. It was like a great big Christmas pass the parcel. Each layer you unwrapped revealed something else more interesting and lovely. There was a really good mix of old/new characters going about there business in the beautiful city of love and romanceTALLY RECOMMEND IT
