The illustrations are amazing. They are very detailed and full of expression and activity. The colours are vibrant and visually move the storyline along beautifully. Who doesn't love a family of adorable mice! Charlie, a little boy mouse, has been invited by his grandparents to attend a very special tea where the Queen will be the hostess. His grandmother is turning 100 years old (in mouse years) and every centenarian mouse is honoured by having a birthday tea with the Queen. How smashing!! Gran [...]

Hart has written a delightful fantasy picture book for young children. Charlie and his grandparents, Harriet and Arthur, are about to embark on a special trip aboard a Royal Goose to have tea with the queen at Buckingham Palace. The family of three mice has been invited to the palace, for a special occasion, the one hundredth birthday of Harriet. Chester and his grandparents experience an exciting journey along the coast, and have a few close calls with some sea gulls and the palace corgis, but [...]

Stories about mice have always been popular with children, from Aesop's Fabulous Fables-The Town Mouse And The Country Mouse in its many incarnations down through The Church Mice Spread Their Wings and many other beloved characters. Let's hope Chrissi Hart's mice join the pantheon. Beautifully illustrated, I acquired this as a kindle freebie but really if I was reading it to a young child would definitely prefer the book itself. Perhaps the story could have done with a little more development bu [...]

    - Interesting enough story, up to the moment where it abruptly ends.- I was mildly annoyed at some of the illustrations not matching up with the storyline (random windmill when the text is about Big Ben, Big Ben when the mice are landing by Buckingham Palace). Weird London geography only ever works in Spice World: The Movie.- Not my favorite illustrations. How in the world do you manage to make corgis not-cute?!

Very good children's book I liked the originality of having tea with the (mouse) Queen of England when Grandma turns 100 mouse years old. Charlie and his grandparents flew for the first time during this adventure. I think all ages can enjoy this sweet book. My granddaughter loves to have tea parties with Mommy or Grandma so will enjoy this book.

a great book with a fast endingI really liked the book. The reason for the four star is it seemed like the story was going well and then when they arrived to have tea that was it. Overall the pictures were great, the story was cute. It seemed like it needed more about the tea party.

TURNING 100 BRINGS SURPRISES TO ONE OF THE MICECharlie and his Grandparents travel on a goose (Percy) to Buckingham Palace to have tea with the Queen Mouse. Can you guess who's birthday was celebrated? The story ended to quickly for me.

It's okayMy three year old wasn't interested. My five year old liked it alright but my seven year old just complained that it was boring. I thought it was cute. I guess it wasn't exciting enough.

Received this free on my Kindle and thought I'd give it a try. It's a pretty simple children's story of a family of mice invited to have tea with the queen. Nothing really awesome about it, just a nice children's book.

  • Stacey

Lots of action only to end as the family arrived to meet the queen.

Downloaded for free from This was quite a funny story about some mice who go to Buckingham Palace to have tea with the mouse queen. The ride on the goose was also pretty fuuny!

Very cuteThis book was cute and beautifully illustrated and was easy to read to children. My son liked the book very much.

  • Lizz

Not fond of the ending either. Much too abrupt. But the illustrations were terrific.

  • Amje

Great read-aloud story.I enjoyed reading this with my son. Great pictures and good story. Would have liked more focus on the actual tea party.

  • Jacqueline Layne

    cute children's book

This one could have been better. The tea was such a tiny part of the story. The main story was the trip to get to the tea with the Queen. This will not stand up to scrutiny of most kids.

  • Gina

This was a cute book but ended too abruptly.

  • Karen

Nice story but not very gripping. Adorable illustrations.

  • Dominique

cuteCute kids story. About a mouses adventures and seeing the mouse queen. It's delightful recommend this to your youngins. It's a blast.

  • Kyoung

Ok.Cute but lacks a point. From the first Dick and Jane books I want my books to have a message.

  • Debby Tjong A Hung

The ending was kind of sudden, would have preferred at least one more page with a little more added to the story, otherwise it was a fun kids booked. The illustrations were great too.

  • RJ

The title is Tea with the Queen yet the story is about the adventure to get to the tea. I enjoyed the premis of the story. The illustrations were good. The ending needs work.

  • Sandra Kaleuati

I liked this children's book. It was not what I expected from the title, but it was a fun book to read.

  • Jacqueline Fisher
