This is the first book I've read by Ms. Rose. It took me a while to get into it, and then I fell in love with this sweet and clean historical western romance. It is a bit different than most mail order bride stories because Moria is a noble from Ireland. She runs away to America with her maid in order to avoid marrying a terrible man, and never planned on being a mail order bride. It was just that Mr. MacAteer was expecting one!I wish I would have felt closer to the characters. The prose is a bi [...]

1.5 stars. For some reason, I was uncharacteristically craving a western historical romance, but my library doesn't seem to have any in ebook form. When this was offered free through BookBub, I snatched it up, even though after reading the reviews, I was dubious. Turns out, I should have followed my instincts and not wasted my time. The writing isn't terrible, and I don't mind reading a "clean" romance once in a while, but, even taking that into account, this is one hell of a boring book. Thank G [...]

“This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.”A quick western fiction, historical fiction. The female protagonist is different from most mail order brides. She is a woman of means looking for a bit of independence. Upon arriving in Montana she must prove herself loyal to the man her uncle sold her to. Lots of twists to keep the listener engaged. The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. L [...]

Had great potential, but fell flat.I started reading this book with high hopes. The first couple chapters were great, however, once Moira gets to Montana and the interaction between her and Pryor begins, the story gets muddlede writer changed perspectives between the two main characters. While I typically don't mind reading both perspectives, the writer made it difficult to differentiate between the two. She should have either separated the perspectives by chapters or a clear astrix. Despite thi [...]

This is book 1 of a four part series. Moira is a woman of noble birth who flees Ireland for the wilds of Montana thinking she is settling on a claim. She is not aware that when she arrives to New Hope she is met by a man who is under the impression that she is his mail order bride. From this situation a series of events occur that lead to her discovering her uncle's duplicity and Prayor discovers that he loves her. It takes almost losing Prayor that she discovers that she loves him and they get [...]

Sorry for the low rating, but this was quite poor. Yes, it was a clean mail order bride romance. But clearly the writer did no research or didn't have the basic knowledge that a titled woman in England is not "royalty". Also, the behavior of the hero made little sense throughout. The schemes of staking claims and exchanging property also didn't seem to make sense.

Can a runway aristocrat find happiness as a Montana mail order brideThinking she can just homestead with her lady's maid, she finds that she has been sent as a mail order bride of a homesteader. She cannot cook, sew, or another skill a new wife needs. Well-developed characterization and story line. Written for all but best for adults.

From Lady to LandownerI really love to read historical romances. I've often wondered what it would be like to have lived in the 1800s out West. Thank you for writing this heartwarming story about Moira and Pryor. I look forward to reading more of your work.

Beautiful clean romance ♥Being first book in series and obtaining the audible for a review, I was not expecting to follow the author to such extent as I've had; nor purchasing other books by Amelia Rose.

I enjoyed reading this book. it showed the hardships that were faced when coming to an unknown land and you get an understanding of how mail-order brides found their husbands. I wanted more, would love to know what happens to Gretchen.

  • William E.Price

BridesThis is a very good book. I liked the characters and the story line. I would read other books by this author.

  • Anne Paquin Smith

DecentBasic story, typical everything. Would have rated a 3 but I loved the story was clean, unlike many romance novels.

  • Willi

This was an interesting read. I enjoyed the plot!

A sweet romanceA bit of intrigue, a lot of adjustments for the h and her maid. It turns out they are both up for the new frontier. But will they face it all alone?

    Mail-order bride

  • Sherri Dewey

Clean but depressingI read the entire book but didn't enjoy it. It plodded along and I couldn't feel the romance. It ended well but without emotion. I don't recommend this book.

  • Donna

    Good book.

  • Diane K. Peterson

Pleasant story without a lot of depth.

  • Phycilla Gable

reviewThis is an OK book. The language is clean which is always a plus but I just thought the story was a little dull.

  • Eleanore June

It was sweet but I think you can still write a "clean romance" with some actual romance. There were no sparks, just a feeling of "he's a good man and we could make a good life together". Blah.

  • Annette K Hernandez

Fun reading, and quick reading.A titled lady of Italy, escapes to America so she doesn't have to marry an old, nasty, and mean man. She finds love and marries in Montana.

  • Hillary Hurst

GoodI don't normally do clean romance, but I love a God mail order bride story. Pry could have used more depth.

  • Lynda Reed

Good Cute, although the plot was a bit unbelievable and predictable. Also, it needed editing. Many errors in sentence structure and grammar.
