This was an interesting post apocalyptic book. I was looking forward to a zombie story but this wasn't it. Still I enjoyed reading it. I liked the characters and how they were thrown together. They were interesting without getting too into them. I was kept interested all through and wanted to know what was coming around each corner. The very last chapter was not what I was looking for and did fell a bit let down, but that does not mean it was bad. I just wanted it to lead someplace else and for [...]

. Hearing about the flu sounds like today's world. Please protect the children, get your flu shot.Interesting story, makes a person proud of the military

Paladin kinda describes it allFor one of our ever popular End of the World sagas that are all the rage on now, this was an engaging and page-turning story. Pretty decent editing although my copy had some formatting problems which blanked out small portions of text. Roland was a great hero because he was not perfect and made mistakes, people died and things were rebuilt. of the story feels real. You don't want it to happen for real!

Another good bookI have really enjoyed the books of N.C. Reed. I read "Odd Billy Todd" twice it was that good. This one was good too. A monetary collapse started this societal disintegration. Characters were well developed and quite believable. As expected there was quite a lot of violence that was realistic. Also a lot of good caring people.

A must readI started this book because of the new twist involving children and came to be completely engrossed in all the individual characters. One major flaw, what happened to the dog? I wish there would be a sequel. What happened to the sheriff? I found the book entertaining, a real page Turner. I read it all in almost in one sitting.

Wow! Roland was great. This is one of the better post-apocolypse books I've read. An exciting story and not a bunch of profanity. Why can't more writers tell a story without all the trash talk.

ApocalypticAfter the economic fall of the world a paladin arises.A good man who saves the world at his own expense.A goody goody man who survives one thing after another after another after another etc. but well written.

  • Karen Parker

ExcellentI have to say this was one of the most enjoyable stories I have read in quite some time. As I finished it I found myself wishing for a second book it would have been awesome unlike some this one deserved to continue

RolandThis book does not pull punches, at times it was hard to read because when I read, I become involved in the story. This book pulled me in and I kept reading when I should of been in bed. Mr Reed, I am a fan!

  • Brad T.

I really liked this book. Dont get me wrong, it had its issues, most notably with formatting for the Kindle app and some needed editing. That aside, the book sucked me in hard. I could not put it down. I want more.

  • Doris Marcantel

Loved it!I absolutely loved this book like all of n.c eds books! I would give it more stars if I could!!!

  • Maya Morikawa

Stone cold killer.Enjoyed it,but a bit unrealistic pace.Plus the theme of saving the children yet they play a small part in the story.
