From jbgarner58.wordpress:Have you ever sat down at the dinner table filled with trepidation, having read the menu ahead of time and knowing what is about to be served? Every intellectual instinct tells you that you will not love what is on the literary plate, that something intrinsic to the combination of genres is going to make your stomach rebel. Yet, strangely, when you take that first small bite, you find out that it’s not as horrible as you think. You take another bite, then another, unt [...]

This novel was just outrageous fun. At its core is an interesting mystery about how the zombies came about and there are several romantic plots. There's the story of how an elite northeastern school came to be one of the most prestigious universities in the country. Of course, it's all told tongue very thoroughly in cheek. It's not exactly great literature but there are so many fun elements weaved together that I just had a great time with this book.

For more reviews visitThe Book Landers This was a surprisingly lighthearted zombie book. Never thought I would say that (since "zombies" and "lighthearted" aren't exactly words you would expect to see together.) When Jack wakes up one day, he realizes he should've been deadbut he's not. Instead, he's been turned into a "zombie" (I use this term somewhat loosely--will explain later)--and a rather particular zombie at that. Yes, zombies can have manners and they do care about acting normal (ie. ke [...]

My rating: 4.5 starsAudiobook narrator Martin Wurst rating: 4 starsI received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.I went into this book thinking that it was going to be a funny and cheesy zombie novel with slapstick humor (I am not sure why I thought this but those were my thoughts). I was pleasantly surprised while reading (listening) through this book that not only was there some humor but it was very well written and very intelligent as well. I thought this book end [...]

Jack is a zombie and he is just trying to live a normal life and works at a pizza joint. He is not real sure how he became a zombie though he knows who killed him. Lisa catches him eating an arm in the freezer and freaks out a little and shoots him, but he reanimates and then all of a sudden it’s like they are cool with one another. Lisa feels a bit sorry for him so even though she should fire him she doesn’t.Meanwhile the people who are responsible for turning Jack into a zombie is after th [...]

The title sounds pretty funny, and there is a lot of humor in this book, but there is also a really good solid story in there. The characters are all engaging, with complex relationships and struggles dealing with being changed into, well, zombies. They can still think though, so it's not the walking dead in that respect. Lots of zombie humor, with a conspiracy about how the zombies came about, and what to do about them. Really snappy dialogue, with a fast paced plot that never gets bogged down, [...]

I will say it isn’t a very tight story – by that I mean I had questions that didn’t get answered – but it was a fun and entertaining story and most of the time, isn’t that what you want anyway? Something that makes you smile or giggle or sigh or fall in love with the characters? Well, this one definitely made me giggle and keep turning pages to get to the end to find out what happens to everyone. You have to have to be OK with zombies because a decent number of people in it, including [...]

I listened to the audiobook of this story and it keeps you glued from the beginning to the end. This story is written in multiple points of view with each character telling their story of what's happening. You have so much going on and the many different characters brings this story to a ending that is a surprise. The many twist and turns during this book will make you not stop until you finish. What I loved the best in this story is that even with a Zombie outbreak, you can find love in the lea [...]

What a well written book, it was really easy to read. Could not put it down. Loved the characters there is a lot within the book that is really enjoyable. Strongly recommend it.

There's humor, there horror, there's actually a really cute love story. The book is a tasty treat, although you shouldn't eat any actual food while you're reading.

This book kept switching views and telling the story from different character's viewpoints (so it was tough to pick out the MCs). It was a very interesting take on zombies. Who knew zombies would like pizza so much! When you read this book you have to take everything you thought you knew about zombies and throw it out the window. The thing I disliked the most was when Lisa made out with Jack, knowing he was a zombie (I mean ewwww!!!- LOL). I give the author an A on creativity here!

This one was a bit different than the normal zombie books i have read. It moved along nicely and was just honestly a nice change in pace It takes place at Withrop University and there are love plots all over and mystery to add in. It was just a fun read in the crummy weather in my neck of the woods.
