A fun romantic read. The main characters Ben and Tess are compelling. They make mistakes, and they try to fix them. The book is full of humor and enough twists to keep you interested. Not to mention secondary characters you can't help but love (or dislike). With characters of strong and wavering faith, it was refreshing to read a story with God included in a way that wasn't heavy handed but felt natural and real. I can't wait to read the next installment.

  • Amanda Geaney (Christian Shelf-Esteem)

Lara Van Hulzen makes an explosive entrance into the Christian writing scene with her debut suspense romance Remember Me. Readers will find themselves helplessly drawn to the rekindling romance between Ben Russo and Tess Janseen. As events unfold Van Hulzen dials up the suspense, concluding with a stunning finale that you won’t see coming. The ruggedly handsome Ben Russo becomes blinded by grief after the accidental shooting death of his parents. His inability to find solace in his faith or to [...]

Loved this mystery that grabs the reader on page one when Tess, a nurse about to go off duty, is assigned to a car-accident patient with no memory of who he is. This is startling to Tess since the patient is Ben, her ex-fiancee who stood her up a week before their wedding. The story unfolds from there with intrigue beyond Ben's memory loss. Suspense builds on several fronts, keeping the reader turning pages to unravel what caused Ben to break their engagement and why Tess's life now seems to be i [...]

*Warning Spoilers*The plot was really exciting, and I could feel the love between them. What really ruined the story for me was the thing about Sophie trying to kill Tess, I still don't understand why she was doing this, either was because Ben was a traitor and she wanted revenge or she was in love with him and wanted kill her rival. And the way how Ben rescues Tess was a little unbelievable, I mean it didn't looks like police's way We never saw he reporting his actions to his superiors. But was [...]

This author is new to me and after reading this book, she is one that I will be keeping my eyes on. This is the first book in the Men of Honor series. This was a good, clean romance book. I think I remember one instance or so of mild swearing. I loved the story and the characters. There was even a bit of suspense and action in there toward the end. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

I read this book in 2 days. I really enjoyed the story and the main characters, Tess and Ben. I was already hoping for a second book with Aimee and Dane before I finished reading it. It is hard to find a good, Christian romance/suspense book, but this one was great. I can't wait to read more from Lara Van Hulzen!

This book falls into my "guilty pleasure" category - is it realistic? Nope. Is it silly? Kinda. But was it a fun read? You betcha.Four and a half stars for this gem that kept my attention, had me excited to read, and broke me from my book hangover.

4.5 starsComing off an intense read I needed this sweet romance with a bit of suspense. I thought it was similar to The Vow at first but not really as it went on. In fact the angst factor wasnt from the amnesia at all. It was wrapped up nicely and it had its own cute moments too.

  • Rebecca Reilly

Lovely romance! Well-written and well-edited. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series!

Tess thought she had everything with Ben, but then a week before their wedding, she was left with nothing but a note and an irreparably broken heart. Except the man she never expected to see again is suddenly back, a victim of a car accident with no memory of who he is or how he got there. If he never remembers, she'll never get answers. But if he does, she just might lose him all over again. The Verdict: It only took me a few pages to realize I wasn't putting this book down until I'd read every [...]

I received a copy of this title from the author. It does not impact my review.Fun fact before I get started. I went to a Nazarene college and Van Hulzen attended Point Loma Nazarene University in California. Every year when it snowed there were always people who vowed to transfer to Point Loma. So while I never met the author, or visited Point Loma, it's kind of a cool connection.Tess is a nurse who has a John Doe patient, someone who's lost his memory. She's surprised to find it's her ex-fianc [...]

Lara Van Hulzen may or may not be a new name to you, but if she is check her out! Her tagline is Romance with a Twist of Faith and she definitely delivers.Book One in Van Hulzen's Men of Honor series is titled Remember Me. It is a fast moving, twisting tale of lost love, redemption and renewal in God's economy. This story was fascinating to me from the start. Tess is thrown into such a tail-spin from page two on. The action and tension picks up instantly and moves you quickly through the entire [...]

For some of us, we wish we could forget the past, especially when we've made some mistakes we regret. I guess the same thing could be said for Ben Russo, but he wasn't planning on getting that prayer answered in the most unusual way. Just a week before he was suppose to get married, Ben left that fateful Dear John note for Tess. Said he needed time to figure somethings out and was heading to Europe to go backpacking. He took the pieces of her broken heart with her. Now the last person Tess ever [...]

A fast paced story with enjoyable twists and turns, even if a few were predictable.Tess Jansenn has moved on, or at least is trying to. After being left at the altar, she has moved to a new town and is trying to start over. She has a good job and great friends. Everything is looking up when she is asked to check on the new patient that was just brought in. Once she steps foot in the room she realizes that the new world she was trying to build for herself is coming crashing on top of herself. Lay [...]

It’s been a long shift in ER for Tess Jansenn. It gets longer when her last patient is her ex-fiance, the man who left her a week before their wedding, leaving only a note to explain his reasons. Now he’s back, but he’s got amnesia and can’t remember anything, not even his own name. Ben is frustrated that he can’t remember anything, but is attracted to the tiny nurse, and overcome with the desire to protect her after an accident—or was it? There were plenty of secrets, which always m [...]

Tess Jansenn is finally moving on after ex-fiance, Ben Russo, abandoned her just before their wedding. That doesn't mean she's over Ben, and he surely never stopped loving Tess. When Ben shows back up mysteriously, she must choose whether to turn her back on him or help, and that wasn't an easy choice.I just love romances about second chances and Remember Me fits the bill! It's also a great reminder that things aren't always as they seem, which is especially true of this book. Not just once, but [...]

When my review copy of Remember Me first arrived I was drawn to the cover. I'll admit I was slightly put off by the font when I opened the book though. That sounds so superficial, but the font is very non-standard for a novel. It made me question the quality of the book. Even though the story sounded interesting, it took me awhile to actually sit down and read it.I am happy to say my speculations due to my font-aversion were unfounded. The story was quite enjoyable. I was very curious about Ben [...]

I really am glad that I try new authors, because Lara Van Hulzen is such an excellent one. Her book Remember Me, book one in the Men of Honor series is incredible. I totally love books where people lose their memories. This one is really good. Tess and Ben are sweet characters, but also have much depth in them. Remember is an tremendous love story with great suspense running through. The ending was very surprising, but satisfying. The characters, scenery and dialogue are brilliant and well worth [...]

I just finished reading "Remember Me" and I really liked it. I liked the storyline and I liked the characters. The story is one of a man who walks away from his girlfriend because he believes that he is protecting her. But, can he really be putting her in danger? Will their faith help them in the future? Will they ever be able to forget their past and get back together? The characters were great. I give this book a 4/5. I was given this book for the purpose of a review and all opinions are my ow [...]

Lara Van Hulzen is a new to me author, and one I hope to review again. I enjoyed this story greatly. While there were some predictable parts there were enough turns and twists to keep you guessing and frustrated. You will want to shake Ben and Tess to get them to see past the past and see what lies ahead. A great story, fast paced easy reading. 4.5 stars from this reviewer. This book was provided for review purposes only, no payment was received for this review.

I couldn't put it down! It had a good suspense element but it was the romance that was the best part. Ben and Tess were very likable, well developed characters although Ben should have had his butt kicked a bit more. The secondary characters were quite good. I look forward to reading more in this series.

  • Tarah

I loved the premise of this story, and found it very intriguing. However, I did feel that the overall story wasn't as polished as it could be, and that it needed to be edited a little more. I also didn't appreciate the swearing in it. I think that the more she writes the more polished and finished her books will feel. Overall, I'd give another one of her books a try.

  • Lindsey
