Wow. I really really wanted to like this book. Truly I did. But I justuldn't. It was terrible. Lately I have a thing about romance books, and sports ones are top of my list. Seeing as the Super Bowl just happened I was truly excited to read this book, but I really couldn't have been more disappointed. You may have noticed I haven't included my own customary summary. That's because the summary makes you think it's going to be a really good sports romance, but the actual story had very little to d [...]

Romance novels have been an obsession since I was a teenager. I'm also a sports junkie, especially when it comes to pro ball. I had high hopes for this book but they were dashed as the author cringeworthy wrote a non-believable football romance. The main characters were excruciatingly dull and not fleshed out enough to make them memorable. Kyle was so dang boring and pathetic in his attempts to win over Payton. As much as he was in love with Payton, I don't believe any NFL QBs would jeopardize t [...]

Received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest reviewOh. Dear.I really wish I could find something positive to say about this book, especially since the summary made it sound like it was going to be a decent sports romance.Unfortunately the reality was it wasn't even a sports romance teetering on the edge of bearable. The first half was bad due to the following:1. the writing was fanfic-y2. there was far too much squeaking, squawking, screeching by the characters3. the main characters h [...]

This story had promise, but the plot was all over the place. There was enough going on for 3 novels. The danger was not very dangerous and completely illogical. The big stalker reveal was justoh they caught the stalker, but the crazy chic and her brother are nuts and the stalker ex is crazy too.The heroine, Payton, was not endearing at all. She was whiny and oblivious. She travels frequently to her hometown, but hadn't seen her dad in 3 years. Her dad the raised her singlehandedly because her mom [...]

This review can also be found at chiquitablogger.wordpress This book was rough.I'm the type of girl who knows more about football than most guys. I play fantasy, I watch all the games every week, I'm a diehard Pats fan, and can rattle statistics like most people rattle off their names an addresses. I. Know. Football. So, I love books about pro sports players and am ALWAYS willing to read about the next Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers. HoweverThe author wrote in the front that she didn't really know a [...]

Kyle he's always eager to get his girl home alone, "halftime. We are leaving at halftime." Kyle stood firm. "No one will notice. Besides, the game is lopsided. The nuggets are crushing the Rockets. It's a boring game." Kyle he likes to take care of his woman, "she started to unbutton her pants, but Kyle's hand stilled hers. "That's my job." His tongue laved at her breasts making her shudder with desire. Payton's hand held Kyle's hips against hers so she could feel his erection." Kyle he likes to [...]

I was really uncertain about this book. There was just something missing from the description. Well, whatever it was, the book found it. The plot was strong, the ups and downs were unpredictable, the characters were likable, and there was a happily ever after (and by the time it happens, you're about to yell at the book "About freaking time!). This author wonderfully conveys the emotions of everyone involved. That was by far the best part. My stomach was jumping along with the characters. I was [...]

This book was just not my favorite. I don't have a great football knowledge, but I just couldn't accept the premise - that one person wouldn't date someone interesting because they are a fan of a rival team. The pacing of the book was uneven, and though I found the characters engaging, I just couldn't connect with them emotionally. The happily ever after was satisfying, and the writing has promise. It just wasn't for me. I would read more from the author as I think she has talent but needs a lit [...]

Received copy from Netgalley for honest reviewA generous 3 rating. No cliffhanger.I enjoy romances that involve sports. I was looking forward to this book but was a little disappointed. The plot didn't really flow. One minute Payton is anti-dating and the next minute she has 3 dates I back to back. Kyle has a selfish ex who tries to blackmail money from him and then he wants to get back with her?The best friend Steve is a womanizer who in the next paragraph is madly in love with a soon revealed [...]

Didn't finish. The main character was supposed to be knowledgeable about football, but it seemed as if she was just parroting lines without understanding them. The author thanked someone for their football knowledge, so I suppose that's why. It'll probably be no big deal for many readers, but for a long-time football fan it through me right out of the book. (Also, I kept picturing the main character--the Packers QB--as Aaron Rodgers. Discount Doublecheck, Rodgers!)Provided by publisher.

I loved this book. Very loveable heroine! Being a Chicago Bears fan; I really love the name of the heroine Payton. I know this book is about football but there is more to the story about a friendship between two people that now has turned into pure love over time. Add in their co-workers, crazy ex-girlfriends, a bodyguard named "Bones" and you got one fantastic story in the world of NFL Sports and Sports Casting.

I enjoyed the book. The characters are interesting, plausible, and smart. Payton was a strong female character who works in a traditionally dominated career field and she works hard. She is well respected too. I really liked it! Read as ARC in exchange for Netgalley honest review.
