Very little + big personality = lots of giggles and many fans.

  • Kate Scott

Teresa Heapy is one of my favourite children's writers and this is yet more proof that she knows exactly how to appeal to young readers with wit and style. Such a wonderful series -- I hope she gives us her fresh and funny take on all the favourite fairy tales!

  • Justin Bloch

Such a cute little series. My daughter loves it!

  • Sian

As a parent I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and my child enjoyed it too, though most of the humour would have gone completely over her head. This is the story of Cinderella if Cinderella were a demanding toddler and the Fairy Godmother were a babysitter. My only negative is that I don't feel that children's books should feature the word 'ugly' these days and though I understand it is a staple of the standard Cinderella story it wasn't necessary for this particular retelling.

  • Barbara

Watercolor and ink illustrations and simple text tell the story of Cinderella, styled as a toddler who spends much of her time cleaning for her family. When her sisters head off to a party, she begs her babysitter, the Fairy Godmother, to help her go too. Some parts of the story are funny--for instance, her insistence on her favorite blue dress when the Fairy Godmother offers all sorts of choices. She also refuses a carriage in favor of her blue scooter and loves her yellow boots. As happens in [...]

Adorable twist on a classic fairy tale. Toddler Cinderella is precious! You can just hear her wail when she wants something she cannot have. The kindness of her sisters and the firmness of her fairy godmother are a departure from the original tale, but the lost boot and the happily ever after are a perfect fit! julianaleewriter/books-ali

It tells the story of Cinderella except instead of teaching kids that through kindness and patients dreams could come true while this one teaches kids that they could what they want by telling people they want something like going to the ball or taking a cookie rather than clean because they already did clean.

  • Amanda

Very Little Red Riding Hood was so adorable; this however felt constrained by its format/style. Did not like it quite as much. Would I like to see another in this (can you say?) series? Yes. Might like it a bunch more.

  • Emily

Simple text tells a unique Cinderella story about a little girl who is sad she can't go to a party. It's a cute Cinderella story that would appeal to preschoolers and kindergartners and no one is really evil.

  • Laura McLoughlin

Pretty cute little kid version of Cinderella.

  • Philippa N

My two-year-old daughter enjoyed this toddler take on Cinderella.

  • Annie Watkins

    Super adorable!

  • kim

not as cute as very little red riding hood, but still adorable!

  • Steph

Baby talk Can't stand it.Love that the babysitter is the fairy godmother, though. :-)

  • Michelle Gray

Very sweet take on the Cinderella story.Themes: clean up, being little

  • Ama

cute illustrations. I didn't like how Very Little Cinderella talked, which dragged the story down from a high 3 (possibly 4) star rating to a firm 2.

  • Edward Sullivan

    Okay twist on Cinderella tale.

  • Charlotte Larmee

Very cute but did not like the baby talk or that the stepsisters were referred to as "ugly". We skipped right over that word.

  • Natalie

This book was sometimes a little too silly, but it genuinely cracked me up. Loved it.

  • Kimberly

Cuuuuute! Would be a fun read-aloud with the little kid dialect.

  • Andrea

I didn't really care for the baby talk and the plot was pretty thin. However, my daughter loved it so what do I know?

  • Sarah Adamson

An interesting twist on the Cinderella tale. Not my favourite but the girls seemed to enjoy it.

  • Casandria

    Almost too cute!

  • PWRL

  • Susie

Cute, but predictable. Of course you would know the basic story, but I expected a little more of a twist.
