I enjoyed the first book in this series and this sequel even more. This is much more powerful than the first book--- stronger plotting, more emotionally effective, less distractions, and more specific and concrete.Michael himself is a fuller character, with harder edges and clearly defined flaws, but a more believable strength. It was sort of a matter of faith in the first book, that he could be so heroic (even with the clear acknowledgement that even he thought he was crazy), but here it's just [...]

I have to say that this book is an improvement over the first book. Just barely. It seemed more real to me. I didn't even notice the complete absence of profanity. The author of this book assured me that there would be less skullfucking in this book. Something tells me that he's not very familiar with one of my favorite terms. You see, skullfucking is a true artform. You take a perfectly good story and completely wreck it. And let me tell ya, this author is a real skullfuck artist.Because the fir [...]

This book is super-confusing. Everything happens at once and nobody can be trusted. Even the good guys are bad guys. No one's quite [...]

In my review of Book 1 in the series, Super Nobody, I wrote that I was looking forward to reading the next in line. I was not disappointed. Meske is an excellent storyteller, and each chapter, with its cliff-hanger endings, kept me going for hours. In fact, I can honestly say I've never spent as many consecutive hours reading a book as I have with this one. Meske really transported me into the world of the super fantastic. I was surprised by how much action was packed into these 20 chapters, and [...]

Super abilities happen to people who work hard at something they really want, and by studying, practicing, believing, and networking, they become the best at it.Everyone has abilities at different skill levels. By focusing on a few key abilities, especially if interrelated and required for a task, and developing them, the task becomes easier. With practice and experience, the knowledge and skills learned on performing different tasks begins to blend with those [...]
