Normally I like Christmas stories and as long as it's Christmasy I'll enjoy it. This book had 4 short stories and I really only enjoyed one of them.A Ranger for Christmas - I liked this story. It had a decent plot and I liked the characters. Although I didn't necessarily buy that they fell in love that quickly I still enjoyed it.A Southern Christmas - This one was okay. Danielle and Sawyer were decent characters but I'm not sure why Danielle was so sure she was still in love with her ex since sh [...]

Quick book with four short stories that take place around Christmas. The reoccurring theme of each told the story of the main characters first Christmas as a couple. Honestly, though that and the fact that each story takes place during the Christmas season is the only thing Chistmas"y" about most of these stories. That was a bit surprising to me but it was ok, just not what I had expected. As with all short story collections some stories will appeal to different people more than others. I'm not [...]

1st story- "A Ranger for Christmas": It was about Marisa (university professor who specializes in ancient languages) and Lucas (Texas ranger). He brings her a code that needs cracked in order to bust up a drug deal. Marisa works on it, but someone isn't happy about it and starts to stalk her and tries to kill her. It is her assistant, Kyle, who is trying to kill her because he is involved in the drug deal. 3 stars at best." The 2nd book-A Southern Christmas- 4 stars. Its about a southern girl wh [...]

Each year I read at least one Christmas book to help me get in the spirit of the season. I had purchased this book last Christmas as an Kindle special. Being a book of four novellas intrigued me. I had recognized a couple of the authors' names and knew their previous work so thought I would like the concept. I was looking forward to reading the book this holiday season but found that it didn't keep my interest. While the book had Christmas in the title, the stories didn't have much to do with C [...]

The perfect stocking stuffer read! It’s like getting four stockings instead of one on Christmas morning. I enjoyed each and every one of these short stories and it has left me firmly in the holiday spirit. If you aren’t familiar with any of these authors, this is a perfect way to get to know them and their writing style. What a perfect way to start the Christmas season with 4 short stories to dip into and a great way to try out new authors. I’m glad that I got the chance to read these winter warmers! They are full of romance, humour and festive spirit.I enjoyed the one by Lisa Jackson particularly, a departure from the usual style I’ve read by her. Written by the wife- it recalls falling in love with her husband, whilst she’s waiting by his hospital bedside.Lovely to curl up with with a hot cocoa, safe in [...]

Book was ok for a fluffy romance. I liked the first story. the second story was ok, though I hated the main character (bit of a spoiled little girl). I'll be honest and say I skimmed third story. Not my cup of tea. the writing was repetative and i didn't like main character in this one either (a bit whiny). I basically just read the letter from different family members. the last story I enjoyed and would have liked to hear a little more about. all in all, for a discount book it wasn't bad

Our First Christmas by Lisa JacksonI enjoyed this story. In fact it is the most emotional of the 4 stories in this book, at least in my opinion. I've read many of Lisa Jackson's books and they are usually more suspense than romance so I was caught by surprise to find that it is a contemporary romance read. The story is about Megan who is having second thoughts about her marriage with Chris. It's not about affairs whatsoever and more about the marriage becoming stale after a point in time and whe [...]

Our First Christmas is a compilation of four different stories written by four different authors. In A Ranger for Christmas by Mary Burton, Marisa Thompson, a history professor who studies ancient languages, agrees to help Texas Ranger Lucas Cooper solve a case that involves a code that no one has been able to decipher. Instead of avoiding the holiday season altogether like she usually does, maybe Lucas can remind her of how joyful it can be. A Southern Christmas by Mary Carter is about Danielle [...]

This book contains four stories set around Christmas. Very different stories. Overall, they were decent reads, but I wouldn't say I loved any of them.I really liked one story - A Ranger for Christmas by Mary Burton and will probably look for more by this author. The characters were interesting and there was a bit of suspense as well as romance in the story. Of the four, this was easily my favorite.I liked A Southern Christmas quite a bit also. The characters were cute and funny. Dani returns hom [...]

A Ranger for Christmas by Mary Burton ~ 4 of 5 Stars This novella was really good, usually I don't read the "cowboy" stories. This one was different. Full of suspense and Christmas emotions. I can't even call it Christmas cheer, not until the end at least ;-)A Southern Christmas by Mary Carter ~ 4 of 5 Stars This was another sweet clean Christmas story. Things aren't always what they seem, and jealousy can be a nasty thing!Christmas in Montana by Cathy Lamb ~ 4 of 5 Stars I loved this one. Huge [...]

Really great short stories that actually put me in the Christmas mood even though its hot outside! The first story had intrigue and mystery. I loved the plot line of cracking a Mayan and Aztec code to stop drug cartels. It made the romance between the two characters fun and adventurous. Even though Marisa hates Christmas her Ranger makes it special and gives her new memories to make it the most special time of year. A fun story that could have been a full length novel. The second story about tryi [...]

Rating 3.5/5I want to thank Netgalley and Kensington Books for sending me this e-book in exchange for an honest review. This anthology was pretty decent. I enjoyed two novellas, I grew to like another, and the other one I couldn't wait to finish it because it was driving me up the wall.Mary Burton released another spectacular story in this Christmas-y murder mystery novella. It felt right in her Texas Rangers series, and it was really up her alley. It was amazing and her fans would probably concu [...]

The story by Lisa Jackson was flawless! Short and sweet, it's from the wife's perspective. She's thinking back on their first Christmas and what really made her fall in love with her husband. Love and redemption were the theme of Cathy Lamb's story. A young woman ran away from the love of her life but now she's back to claim her home and the man. I felt like Laurel still was not over her father's abandonment but she finally stopped running and faced her fears. Loved the idea of the "Southern Chr [...]
