3.5*sThe review The Devil’s Flower was a good read, we find Rosalie Lockwood stranded one evening as her attempt to run away from home is not only thwarted by a broken down car but also a rampaging bear that sends her off running into the forest. When she eventually finds road again, she also finds Steele & his motorcycle and - Steele -going against his nature decides to play knight in shining armour only to discover he is stuck with Rosalie when her car is stolen and with no other choice, [...]

Do you like bikers? Do you like New Adult books? Do you like angels and demons? What about the well-known fight between good and evil? If your answer is yes, this book might be the book for you. The Devil's Flower[what a befitting name] is a new adult novel about motorcycle club with a paranormal twist. The thing is I am not a fan of most NA novels, and while I like paranormal I do not fancy MC (motorcycle club) booksThis book and I started on the wrong side of bed- "she had to pee so badly she [...]

Book received from Netgally in exchange for an honest review. This was a surprise. I wasn't sure if I was going to love or hate it. In the end, I truly liked it. I won't say I loved it due to minor issues But those are solely mine. Rosalie, a sweet 18 year old girl, running away from her life; she wants to start new, be someone new. She has no idea how. Call it fate, divine intervention, chance, but nature calls and suddenly she´s being chased by a bear in the middle of the woods, the middle of [...]

Exciting New Adult paranormal romance with an edgy urban twist! The Devils flower is the first instalment within ‘the eternal beings’ series; an eclectic fusion of fantasy and steamy romance. Gritty and raw in places with adult themes *suitable for the older reader*, this darkly twisted tale is my ‘guilty pleasure’! I simply love how the author cleverly merges together a variety of genre for a supremely unique, original storyline that transcends the boundaries of paranormal fiction. Lisa [...]

This review and more can be viewed on my blog: The Muses CircleWe've read about angels. We've read about demons. We've read about angels vs. demons. But how about angels vs. demons and Motorcycle Clubs? The Devil's Flower by Lisa Collicutt is what I like to think of as a wildcard. The cover art is eye catching and sexy. The synopsis gives you the illusion that you are treading into familiar territory but you can't deny there is a sense of mysteriousness. You decide to give it a whirl out of shee [...]

A thrilling, unpredictable, and engaging YA/NA romance, The Devil's Flower was a fantastic read. I absolutely loved this book, from the wonderful characters, to the secrets in store. This book was just lovely.Rosalie was a tough heroine. She had a horrible childhood and, when she got the chance, she got away. And, from then on, she proved her strength as a kick-ass character. No matter what situation she found herself in, she survived. I really liked her. She was a fantastic character.Steele was [...]

This is the second book which I read by Miss Collicutt. I must say after reading her first one, The Gathering Darkness, I thought I couldn't read anything better; that was until I started reading The Devils Flower. The Devils flower is a multiple of genres wrapped up in one book; I really can see everyone loving it. It has darkness and suspense, love, supernatural magic, everything I look for in a book. Miss Collicutt draws you into the story, you becoming one of the characters. Really bringing [...]

I couldn't put this book down! I literally read the book from digital cover, to digital cover because I couldn't stop reading it. I feel in love with the characters, and really enjoyed being "in" the story. Lisa is able to transport you to her world when she writes. All of a sudden, I find myself needing a bike license!

I didn't know exactly what I was getting into when I started this one. It turned out to be a well done YA /Urban Fantasy. There is a sex scene so I wouldn't recommend it to younger teens but it would be appropriate for older teens and young adults. Our story starts with Rosalie on the run. She is running from a home life that was less than stellar. Her step father was abusive and her home life was hell on earth. So when she got the chance to run, she took it.Rosalie ends up on the side of the roa [...]

So my original review was never loaded by . I'll try again. This book was terrible. The contradictions and characters were the worst. The main heroine is apparently descended of angels. The male hero is descended from demons. Well insta love is in play here and guys I mean insta love. The good guys are bad guys and the bad guys are good. I'm okay with that plot twist. My problem was: the author really wanted you to feel bad for the heroine. The author really wanted to you connect with this chick [...]

Killing isn’t exactly on Rosalie Lockwood’s list of things to do when she runs away from home. But despite her search for peace; guns and motorcycles become her latest fashion accessories as Divine interference leads her to Steele, co-leader of the Fallen Paladins motorcycle club.Leathered and tattooed, Steele’s presence scares off most people he comes in contact with — but not Rosalie. She’s immediately drawn into the dangers of his biker world—and into his heart. But Steele guards a [...]

4.5 stars.I wasn't sure if I was ready for a new biker's romance after having suffered my way through the much lauded (but to me, detested, Stockholm syndrome "HEA"/ travesty of a book, known as) Reaper's Property. But the gorgeous cover beckoned to me, and I bought it on a whim.To my delight, I actually loved THIS badass biker (while I'd love to string Horse up by his long co And balls.) as well as Rosalie. They're both more than mere humans, and players for opposite "teams". However, fate and [...]

When I first read the summary for "The Devil's Flower," it truly sounded like something I could really enjoy. Unfortunately, this book turned out to be a mediocre read for me because the characters and sorely undeveloped while the dialogue between characters was corny and juvenile. While the book was advertised as being about a badass biker gang but it was lukewarm at best.Rosalie Lockwood is on the run from her personal life, an unsavory step father, a cheating boyfriend and betrayal by her bes [...]

2.5-3ish stars. This review is a bit of a tough one for me. The book had a little bit of everything in it that I would really dig, such as bikers, angels, demons, drama, and a little side of forbidden romance. However, The Devil's Flower's storyline as a whole just didn't quite come together enough to make it a really good book. We start out with Rosalie being rescued from a bear by Steele, the VP of a local MC in Nowhere, CO. (Side note, I'd love to live in a city called Nowhere. Does CO really [...]

The Devil's Flower is an interesting premise that fails to execute. A confusing loosely developed storyline filled with assumptions and fade to black scenes left me feeling as though I had missed a chapter or a previous book. No indepth background or set up is made in order to facilitate a better understanding for the reader. Certain aspects are revealed to bring our heroine and hero together but those aspects are given a sense of importance to the storyline but never bears fruit. Multiple theme [...]

The writing was well done and the author had a good idea going but didn't execute well. I couldn't wait to finish this book :/The paranormal characters (half demons/humans and half Angel/humans) were described like simple humans and left me wanting more; where is the power other than being able to heal w their tongues? It was a really long book that was really mostly about motorcycle gangs and their psycho members. I also didn't feel like there were any steamy scenes and the very few there were [...]

I LOVED this story!!! I normally don’t start a review with that line but having just finished The Devil’s Flower…those were my exact thoughts! This is an amazing story of good versus evil…Angel versus Demon…While reading I couldn’t tell which side would win! There were many characters and each one was pivotal to the story. Some I loved and some I came to dislike intensely as the story progressed. Ms. Collicutt with her descriptive writing style paints a very vivid picture with her wo [...]

This book did not grab my attention. I mean, when I saw the synopsis it did, but when I tried to actually read it I got bored and kept switching to other books. I think that was a me problem rather than a book problem, for some of it.The book started off good. And it was kind of interesting. I just didn't get into it, you know? I kept falling out of place with the book. I do seem to be boring in the paranormal NA genre. It's getting tedious.I do think that the writing started off well and it did [...]

I started reading this book, not even knowing it involved a MC or really anything about it. I must have been in my own little world when I picked it. Once it hit me that it was about a Motorcycle Club, I honestly wasn't sure if I really wanted to keep going. I did though and let me tell you! I am SO glad I did! I absolutely loved this book. The MC is a integral part of the story at the same time that it is a subtly invisible piece. It's there but it's not. I love Rosalie. She is a strong female [...]

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest reviewLe sigh. DNF at 12%.I really tried to enjoy this one. I did, I swear. I also tried to make it to at least 25%. But I couldn't do it.The "heroine" was so dull and vapid, I couldn't root for her. At 12% in, she'd already made countless TSTL choices. The "hero" is also devoid of a personality, makes sure to be brooding and dangerous, but also protective for no reason whatsoever. The lack of world building and details made things murky [...]

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARCThis book wasn't what I expected. for starters I thought Rose was going to be a badass from the beginning, I didn't know she was going to be delicate. Plus Steele was such a tool to her, but that wasn't surprising. I liked how both of their characters grew, especially Rose. I was dissapointed that Blaze was a bad guy, I really thought she was taking Rose under her wing (teeheehee demon pun) the ending was so anti-clamatic. I was shocked that they finished their mis [...]

I throughly enjoyed reading The Devil's Flower by Lisa Collicutt. It's got all the right parts of a hot paranormal romance. Rose is a running away from an abusive stepfather and has no place to call home. She frightened and vulnerable enough to need Steele's protection, but also very strong and dangerous in her own right. Steele is the perfect dark hero. Dark and threatening, but a hero on the inside. And can't help breaking out of his dark, protective shell to fall in love with Rose. And, when [...]

3.5 StarsReally enjoyed this story and after what took place in this book, I'm wondering what will happen in subsequent books, since this is Book One. I will definitely be on the lookout for the next book in the series.Collicutt's writing style was differentI liked how often she shifted perspectives and how those shifts had a definitive break so the reader wasn't confused. I would have liked a bit more depth in the characters, but there are more books coming so that's easy to overlook. Really cu [...]

When we first meet eighteen-year-old Rosalie Lockwood, her BMW has run out of gas on a Colorado highway and her cell phone battery is dead. She is on the run from her sexually abusive stepfather. When she gets out of her car in high heels and a fancy dress, a bear chases her into the forest and onto a back road just as a motorcycle stops in front of her. The rider tells her to get on. She ignores the “warning bells” in her head (note: this won’t be the first time she does this) and rides o [...]

Even having read the synopsis, I didn't know what to expect with this book. And it worked out for the best. The book lets everything build slowly and doesn't reveal anything too soon. I definitely want to read the sequel and see where things are going - and what Steele did with the feathers! The one drawback was the last paragraph, just to hammer the idea that there is a sequel coming. It was unnecessary.

I received a copy of this free from Netgalley in return for a review! I really enjoyed this book, there were loads of twists and turns that I didn't see coming! The main character Rosalie was great and really relatable and totally kickass! With bikers, angels, demons and kickass chicks what more could you ask for! I hope that I get to read to more of this series soon!

  • Arianna

This book was provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This romance was readable, so why the low ratings?First, it was too slow. I did think about three times not to finish it. Second, it encourage themes that I don't like, such as violence, gangster and drugs. If I was a mother, wich I'm not, I would not like if my daughter read this book.Vote: 2 stars
