I read this books because while researching my family tree a name connected to the Salem Witch Tragedy came up. This was a short interesting book, it was well written, not loaded down with history or boring stuff. I would like to think that if I had lived through that I would have made a difference, but would I or would I have been as superstitious as the people in Salem at that time. It was a sad time, children left without parents because of a hand full a girls causing trouble.

This gave some background information for each of those executed for witchcraft. I would have like more details about the "why" theories. Were there other motivations encouraging the adults in these situations to allow the young girls to carry on?

  • Dick

I cannot rec. this book. I could not finish it. Maybe with a real editing . . .
