Another mystery where June finds herself suspect number one and breaks a bunch of rules to clear her name and find the real killer. This is when Oscar willingly sacrifices his memory of being a spiritualist and his powers and becomes a hawt but useless character that June moons over. Her new found powers she thinks come from being named the new village president really come from a djinn found in a bottle in her shop. And those powers leave her at the end of the book; I think this was a good thin [...]

I am enjoying Tonya Kappes' Magical Cures Mystery Series more and more with each new book. A Charming Wish gave me a chance to get to know some of the other characters a little better, and enjoy more of June's antics as she continued to learn more about her new community and her new life as a spiritualist. In this third book in the series, June once again must use her wits to solve a mystery she has been tied up in to save herself and her friends. While untangling the mystery, June learns more a [...]

I found book three in this series to be just as fun and delightful as the first two! Mystery, romance, drama, and throw in a touch of magic and what's not to like! The new character Belur the genie was a fun new add and I hope he comes back from time to time to visit Whispering Falls! Can't wait for the next one Tonya! :)

  • Holli

This really deserves 2 stars for such OBVIOUSLY flawed writing. She strongly needs an editor. The story is so fun & @ only $3 well worth the priceHowever, if the writing doesn't improve I might have to stop reading the series.

  • Becky

Tonya Kappes has quickly turned into an author I look forward to reading. Can't wait to read more about Whispering Falls!

  • Jeanne

Lost its charmreally enjoyed the previous books but this one seemed disjointed and lacked the at-home feeling of the characters. not interested to me

  • Stephanie

I'll be honest, if the author of this book wasn't sweet as Kentucky tea, I'd only leave 2 stars & feel justified in doing so. This book was my least favorite in the series so far. There were so many typos and structural errors that it was extremely distracting. I kept thinking I had misread lines, rereading them and still being just as confused. The book was disjointed, very little continuity and the absolute worst reason for a murder that I've ever come across. Some important topics that sh [...]

*UPDATE* after reading the 5th book i am back to loving it again! all of the things i mentioned im the bottom of this post has been redeemed! i will now go on to her splitsville Sooooo there is so much I want to say and beware that SPOILERS shall have to pop up so I can give an accuarate review. When I first started this series I was in LOVE. The author has amazing creativity. I highly enjoyed the 1st 2 but the 3rd ruined it for me and so did the synopsis for 4 and 5! I feel that the story could [...]

This series has gotten sillier as it has gone along. I might not continue even though I've already purchased book 4.The town is crazy. Let's make the newcomer, who still doesn't even know much about being a witch, the town president - because her parents were great????Then everyone is blaming her for a bunch of crimes based on no real reason. Oh, she likes the dessert that was stolen, so she must have done it? Really????And June herself is wishy-washy and behaving childishly. I shouldn't do this [...]

Another good offering from Tonya Kappes! This third in the series is just as good as the first two. This time June is in trouble. What happens to her, you won't believe. Let's just say there's an overly helpful genie thrown in the mix. I never thought I would like paranormal books until I started reading these. Now she has me hooked on a few paranormal series.

  • Kristin

I'm giving this 3 stars only because I like the series. This one had some glaring mistakes. Not just editing, even though there were a few sentences that made no sense. But inconsistencies between the books. Like saying that June had never been in the funeral parlor when there was a whole scene that took place there in book 1. I hope this isn't the case in the next in the series.

  • Teri Lenz

June Heal is a character who becomes a part of me, and it is not to unusual for me to go to sleep dreaming that I am a part of her community- involved in yet another mystery she's tied up with. This one will be murder!

  • Erica

Good book in the series. I'm just begging someone to please proof read the books before they are published. The mistakes in grammar/spelling/punctuation/congruency are really shockingly unprofessional and distracting.

  • Melissa

Definitely the best book in the series so far, I find myself enjoying June's adventures more and more. Of course, this one was a little bit sad but I don't want to give anything away. Although Tonya Kappes did redeem herself just a little bit in the end. I am anxiously awaiting the next book.

  • Pam Moore

I always enjoy tonya's books, her stories are fun and full of mystery.

  • Little Red Readinghood

Enjoyed the first two books but this one seems a little muddled especially in the beginning

  • Dominic

Love the story, but I would love to be your proofer and stop all the typos, errors and spelling issues! The errors are a bit distracting! Wonderful story, though.

  • Marian Oye

Editing, editing, editing and grammatical errors!

  • Susan Miller

More grammatical errors!!!Whoever proof reads these books needs to be fired!! In this day and age of technology a person would think there shouldn’t be any mistakes. Yet there were many. I could’ve done better job of proofreading. C’mon people, you are professionals. Don’t make so many errors.

This is the third book in the Magical Cures mystery series by Tonya Kappes. This story takes place about 1 year after the end of book 2, A Charming Cure. Life is pretty good for June Heal. Oscar Parks, the Sheriff of Whispering Falls and her best friend since childhood, is now officially acknowledged as her boyfriend and her shop A Charming Cure is doing very well. June has managed to become a full fledged member of the Whispering Falls community. But all that is about to change. With a dire pred [...]

In A Charming Wish by Tonya Kappes, June is once again embroiled in a mystery and this time it landed at the door of her shopterally! Who killed Kenny? Ughe author really needs to stop making references to pop culture. Anyway, June needs to figure this one out because unlike before she really is in big trouble with a capital "T". And to top it all off, she's just been named Village President.Worst of all, there have been some additional crimes around town and her name is written all over them. A [...]

Reviewed by Kimfor Read Your Writes Book ReviewsI found A Charming Wish to be wellarming.I loved all the detail Tonya put into the book. I was actually able to picture the characters and the events taking place. The mystery of who done it and why kept me guessing and I can say I was surprised with the who and why.Strange things start to happen in Whispering Falls when spiritualist June Heal comes across a genie bottle in her homeopathic cure shop, A Charming Cure. June is accused of murder and s [...]

My take on this book: THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS! IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!I liked this book a lot until the end then I disliked it. Okay not completely disliked it. I just didn't like the ending of it. June and Oscar finally get together and then they aren't together because of what ends up happening at the end of the book. I know that Miss Tonya Kappes is trying to keep us on our toes but I mean why did she had to have Oscar get his magic taken away? It's jus [...]

I actually am having a hard time rating this book, I think that I would actually give it a 3 1/2 stars, there were things I enjoyed and things I found annoying. June is made president with no warning and she still doesn't know half the rules and they won't tell her. The whole thing with Oscar I found a little too much, and the reason for the murder I thought was a bit ridiculous. That being said I still love June and the whole idea of Whispering Falls, you never know what is going to appear. I lo [...]

Another series bites the dust for me. I can't go on with this one. Too much poor writing and editing, and the characters are annoying. June is still in Whispering Falls, and is now the village president (what? Suspend disbelief with me). June butts her nose in where it doesn't belong, is falsely accused, and shenanigans ensue. Just like book 1. Just like book 2. And the author decides to hit a tremendous reset button three books in and I have no idea why. Rumor has it that the series rights itse [...]

First thoughts afterAhhh Tonya, Tonya you do love to torture meHow distracted did I get?A Charming Wish as always with Tonya's books is a fun and cozy read! As this is third full book in the series I will try to keep it short and not give anything away. June is back fun and quirky as ever. I love her because she is so "real" and easy to relate to. I enjoyed discovering more about the newer characters and not so new. I'm definitely ready for the next book. I guess while I'm waiting I'll have to d [...]

Another great story! i love this whole series so far! the only negative thing in this book is the editing it really needs to be proof read alot better. Its a good thing i had already read the others in this series because there are some serious mess-ups name wise in this book. But because i am so enjoying this whole storyline, i can over look it and read what i know is right in my mind as i go along! i love the whole Ostrich sequence in this book! that bird is a mess and it really adds alot of c [...]

June Heal is once again targeted by some of the town folks of Whispering Falls for murder, ostrich stealing and breaking and entering. Then to top it off, her relationship with Oscar was drastically altered. I love the quirky characters, but for this particular book, I felt there was some disconnect. Belur didn't have that much of a role until the end and there seemed to lack transition towards the end at the Piggly Wiggly. I am happy to say that Madame Torres was more helpful and Aunt Helen is [...]

June Heal, spiritualist and president of the council has a mystery on her hand who killed Kenny and who owns the genie. Her other problem, Oscar who denounced his magic and can never get them back or remember his own girlfriend. This would have been a better story if June put it together that the genie was actually helping her. Instead of thinking she gained her new powers from else where. The story gets a bit bogged down as June breaks every rule in the book to learn who the killer is.

  • Joslyn

So many editing errors in this book! I loved the first two in the series, but not this one. The first 25% of the book was so hard to get into that I almost gave up on it. There was too much retelling of the past mixed with new, confused stuff. I finally beg to enjoy the book about 2/3 of the way through it to be disappointed with how things ended. I will give #4 a try and hope it is better. I have always enjoyed this author's books but this one really missed the mark for me.
