This is like The Secret but for people who don't like magical thinking. On a more serious note, like all good self-help books, you will probably read this and think "that's just common sense" but then ask yourself this:"If it is common sense, why am I not doing it?"

  • Joab Cohen

Plot summaryThis book describes the theory and practice behind Weldon Long's amazing journey from high school dropout, derelict dad, and prison inmate to upright, wealthy, contributing member of the human community. The first three chapters are theoretical and deal primarily with the importance of the thoughts that dominate our stream of consciousness. Long emphasizes that thoughts produce feelings, which produce expectations that eventually come true. In other words, we indeed are what we think [...]

It is 1 of my top 2 books of all time! The day before I read this book, I spoke, wrote, and thought about every subject that was in this book AND ALMOST VERBATIM everything I spoke about appeared in the pages of this piece of literature (Weldon Long read my mind!). The way Weldon Long explains the utility of The Power of Consistency simply makes sense and you'll want to engage in the process as well! He reiterates certain points in the book so they continued to stick within your mind and uses ma [...]

This book simplifies everything I've learned about attitude and mindset in such a way that allows me to implement the process daily! I don't feel daunted or guilty about my life, rather, I have a renewed outlook and am inspired to go out into the world and DOMINATE!!

  • Aubrey Eicher

Weldon Long's story removes all excuses. He implements the success principles we have all come to know through Stephen Covey, James Allen, Thoreau, and others after being in prison for the first half of his life and then sets out to build a $20m company over 5 years, restores a beautiful and fruitful relationship with his son, and creates a life where there was only destruction prior to his encounter with these teachings. The main topic - of course - is consistency, and I will be returning to th [...]

Positively InspiredI read this book on direction of a coach in a new field I am choosing to pursue. At 55 years old the thought of starting a new reality is somewhat daunting. If that's what I thought, it surely is what I was going to encounter. Sometimes you just have to be open to seeing the same thing in a different way. Dumping my box and starting today. After all yesterday is a wrap. I will be sending this in hard copy to my son. He is handsome and charming. He is also in prison. I am hopef [...]

this is a book I will return to time and time again. there is nothing earth shattering here, only the most straightforward, no BS delivery I've heard in ages. the author's reading is uplifting and exciting to me, and it's exactly what I need to return to the basics when human nature takes lulls me back into my comfort zone. and we all know, nothing exceptional happens inside one's comfort zone.

  • Michelle Jerome

Repeat repeat repeat This book was very consistent in delivering the message, if you tell yourself one thing, yet do something else you will go crazy. A book on consistency needs repetitiveness. This book was very consistent in repeating what is important to remain consistent.

  • Bucky Stewart

I liked them book because of the practical application that is in every chapter. 4 stars for practicality and application of the material ,easy to understand and written with the passion of real life testimony

Change your mindAn excellent book to understand your thinking and how to change the way you think so you can change your 😄 life.

  • NattyD

This is one of those books I think I could read several times and still get something out of it. His analogies were cool and helped me understand a lot of things differently than I had before. The book was well written and the story was inspirational. I listened to this as an audiobook and I enjoyed it in that format.

  • Sally

His story alone is inspiring. More than a decade in prison, he had abandoned his son, and had absolutely nothing when he got out. Except for the determination he had been nurturing for several years before, focused on a list he stuck to the wall with toothpaste. It's not rocket science - where you focus your thoughts, your energy and actions will follow. 1. Write it2. Review it3. Feel itHe walks you through identifying and becoming more sensitive to limiting beliefs, so they lose their power over [...]

This type of book should be a class that is taught in our school systems. Consistency is a principle that my doing small activities, daily, over a period of time will produce predictable results. Even though the title references Sales and Business professionals this books is a must read for all professions. He talks about the conscious and subconscious minds even though these phrases are rarely referenced in the book. It's the idea of programming our mind to get what we want in life. Remember tha [...]

This book was an easy read and full of great quotes and aha moments. Nothing new really mentioned but the way it's presented was very easy to grab on to. I found myself wanting to stop and re-read a sentence because it hit home for me. I also could see how much of what he talks about in this book, I've heard in other self-help books and the repetitive content will helpfully stick with me as I move forward. The most important lesson from this book is to take action. If I just read the book withou [...]

There aren't many completely new concepts in this books but Weldon Long makes important concepts for success digestible, and more importantly, actionable. The subtitle of this book probably narrows the audience considerably and very unnecessarily. This is a great book for any person who wants to succeed in his or her life. If you have goals and want to accomplish them then there is something powerful in this book for you.

  • Josh

Horribly written book. I read this book as part of a work activity and it is just embarrassing. This is just some guys attempt at scamming people into spending a lot of money for some bogus ideas he came up with while sitting in a prison cell spending my tax dollars. That may be a little too harsh so I'll just stick to the fact that the book is no good. Don't read and don't buy will be a waste of your money.

  • Luigi

A good motivational and inspiring book overall, but I found it too repetitive. Weldon writes about his years in prison, his success building an "Inc. 5000 company" or the rapport with his son so many times it becomes boring. There are some good tips in it, though. The "system" is very simple and easy to implement.

  • Marshall Davis

This book was incredible. I have never felt so sure of my success before. While going through the program, I sought out a marketing position at UFC Gym and nailed it, and am approaching all prospects with extreme confidence and comfort. I've also begun taking daily action toward building my own business, and am getting a step closer every day. The processes presented in this book work.

  • Linda Krueger

Weldon Long puts the same information you know along some you might not and makes it even easier to understand and implement. Why don't we just do what we know we need to do? Read this book and finally start putting the action into what you have spent years learning. You almost forget and have to remind yourself where he came from and what he had to overcome. We have no excuses.

  • David Nachmias

This is an excellent book by a great man. It's a life changer. I strongly recommend it for everybody.

  • Heidi

I really liked this book moved along quickly and had quite a few things to help reach your goals.

  • Giselle

Clear. Straightforward. Everything you already know but put over so simply that it's super easy to finally "get it" and DO what is required.

  • Wanda Woemmel rohlfing

Its a great read - but don't just read itDO IT!

  • Carline

too much quoting of Stephen Covey and repeating himself. over a great read, good tips, and concepts.

  • Grant Herron

Looking forward to following his advice. A lot of it is stuff that I realized on my own, but never laid out in a concise and direct plan of action.
