About Author:

Mike Faricy

I was born in St Paul, Minnesota, I still live there as well as in Dublin, Ireland I ve been a soldier, freelance journalist, tended bar, sold designer cakes, owned a painting and decorating company along with a number of other schemes and scams If that doesn t offend you I also play bagpipes with the Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band All my books stand alone, read them in whatever order you wish They are filled with the sort of oddballs we are all curious about, but wisely, prefer to keep at a distance None of my characters will be saving the world from terrorism, international banking conspiracies or coups to take over the government Rather, they inhabit a world just below the surface of polite society, characters with one foot on either side of the law The circumstances they find themselves in are usually due to bad decisions, but bad decisions lead to interesting stories They serve not so much as an example but as a warning to us all Thanks for taking the time, happy reading.

The number of errors in this book was completely ridiculous. I don't care if you're self publishing, you should hire an editor.

I was gifted on e-copy in exchange for my honest review. This is one, of several, Dev Haskell novels. Dev is a private investigator that has a way with the ladies and getting into crazy situations. He is a guy you will either love, or love to hate. In this novel, he is hired to watch over a Roller Derby team, but mainly the star, Harlotte Davidson. She has received several strange, threatening, gifts. While trying to put a finger on who could be doing this, Dev finds himself becoming the suspect [...]

I love Dev and the author Mike did another wonderful job delivering another hit!! I just adore his detective books. Devlin Haskel is a man with a great heart that has trouble wit [...]

Bombshell (A Dev Haskell Novel) by Mike FaricyDev Haskell, the PI with a passion for alcohol, sleeping in and sleeping around. He must be the world's luckiest son of a gun ever. He manages to solve his cases by sheer dumb luck and by being beaten up, repeatedly .His love life, mostly one night stands usually lands him into trouble. His alcohol use usually leaves him late for appointments and I keep figuring that the police should know by now that he is actually a good guy and simply leave him be [...]

Dev Haskell, hapless P.I is back in another wacky mystery from talented Mike Faricy. This time he's working with American roller derby babes and their British counterparts. What starts out as a hunt for whoever is sending grisly items meant to scare one of the performers quickly turns into a murder investigation, and Dev is smack in the middle of it.Faricy has given us another clever mystery, along with humorous dialogue, a tight plot, and compelling characters. Each of the Dev Haskell novels is [...]

Bleh. Don't waste your time (or money). Not funny. Not interesting. Very formulaic. Boring. Forced myself to finish it for the sake of my Reading Challenge. I would have quit long before the half way point, otherwise.

Good bookI wish you would just read this book yourselves and write your own review on this novel yourself and I really enjoyed reading this book very much so . Shelley MA

THE JOB: PROTECT A RAGTAG CREW OF GORGEOUS ROLLER DERBY GIRLS FROM A STALKER. WHAT COULD GO WRONG?I found it a little slow to start with but it I did finish it, I found the pace picked up toward the end and the story ended a lot better than it began."Dev is at it again. Put the coffee on, and plan to stay up late, this is a real page turner." -The Irish GazetteDysfunctional, bumbling, crazy babe-magnet Dev Haskell, Private Investigator, has just landed the job of a lifetime. He'll be the envy of [...]

Delightfully flawed PI and slovenly boozer, Dev Haskill is an interesting protagonist, and the Mike Faricy series is well written. Faricy is a strong writer and takes care of the reader. A la Ray Chandler, Faricy's characters make bad decisions early, and their consequences inform the story. I didn't realize I had several of Faricy's books already on my Kindle, so as soon as I read one, I galloped onto the next one. Makes it hard to review just one book.Dev Haskill singlehandedly holds up the co [...]

04/12/2013I received a copy of BOMBSHELL from Mike Faricy as a gift (lucky me!), so I wanted to take a moment to share my thoughts on the story to help others decide if it’s the right book for themMBSHELL is a super fun little mystery. It was cold and gray out, yesterday, so I was attracted to his book’s vibrant cover in my kindle library, and the idea that Mr. Faricy’s story would brighten up my afternoon. It definitely did. (Time to read: about 2 hours)The story reads like a sit-com; fas [...]

The book opens with Dev at a hip new club with his girl of the week. While he's their he meets "Spanky" a roller derby babe. After talking she offers him a job to guard the girls during the bout because a stalker's on the loose. Dev takes the job more to be near the girls then to be on the lookout for a stalker. The stalker is more crazy then dangerous, leaving fingers taped to Harlotte Davidson's locker. However, Dev gets more then he bargained for when he ends up in jail after a misunderstandi [...]

This is the first book I've read by Mike Faricy and I enjoyed it a lot. I like reading mysteries with PIs, which are part of a series. When the story begins, Dev Haskell has just taken his date to a bar, only to watch her leave with a suave French guy. There he meets Justine (aka Spankie) who is a player in a roller derby league. The next day, while trying to find some enthusiasm to do some background checks for a client, Justine calls Dev and offers him a job as security for Harlotte Davidson, t [...]

Review 7*******I was given a copy of this book by the author in return for an honest review.Ever since I was introduced to Dev Haskell, P.I. in Mike Faricy's book Russian Roulette, I have loved these stories!Dev Haskell is a P.I. with a roving eye for the ladies. He is suave and charming, but tends to find himself in some unusual situations. And in this book, there is no exception!I love these books because, not only are they exceedingly well written, they are filled with action and adventure. R [...]

I can honestly say that Dev is one of my absolute favorite fictional private investigators. He’s just your average, typical male with all the bells and whistles eternal bachelorhood brings. What I enjoy most about reading Dev Haskell novels, is that the author doesn’t deviate from Dev’s character, and his continuous pattern of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, so you know what to expect when you meet up with him in the next book. His behavior - which often invokes a good measure [...]

Bombshell, Dev Haskell Mystery #4by Mike FaricyDev is back, and he's his same unrepentant, close to unredeemable self. Yet, somehow, you find yourself rooting for this ne'er do well womanizing horn dog. He does manage to find himself in hot water while trying, in his confusing, nonsensical way, to do good. This time, Dev's in what he imagines will be any guy's wet dream -- doing security for a UK Roller Derby team that has been plagued by a stalker since coming to the States. Yet, he still manag [...]

I accepted a free copy of this book to read and am happy to give an honest review.Mike Faricy has created another fun-filled romp with Detective Dev Haskell, a legend in his own mind. This time, Dev meets up with a roller derby cutie who is looking for security for a visiting team’s star attraction, who is being stalked by a nutcase who sends severed fingers. Of course, mayhem ensues wherever Dev appears, and he ends up bloodied, bruised, and in jail once again. This is a fast-paced fun and wac [...]

I recieved this book fro. the author to give an honest review.I love reading the adventures of P.I. detective Dev Haskel and was glad I got to read a second book with him in it. Dev is a real hoot and a lady charmer, who always seems to find himself in trouble or at least trouble seems to find him. Dev has a thing for the ladies, and his charming ways has him in the crossfire with the women roller derby team.Dev gets hired by a roller derby team, to pretty much offer protection and to investigat [...]

This is number 4 in the series of Dev Haskell series. Once again Dev finds himself in trouble with the police when he takes on a new case to make extra money. He is now looking into and protecting a roller derby team. One of the female members of the team has been getting death threats a long with a middle finger. Once again Dev finds himself the main suspect when bad things happen on Dev's watch and once again its up to him to solve the crimes. This is a light hearted, fun read. Its a quick boo [...]

Another fun read with under achieving, skirt chasing PI Dev Haskell of Saint Paul, MN. Dev meets a roller derby skater in a bar who persuades her team to hire him to provide security for a visiting team from England. Seems there star skater has a stalker who has mailed and even slipped under her hotel door human index fingers. These have occurred in a series of cities in their US tour. As usual doing or saying the wrong thing at the wrong time Dev soon finds himself beaten up by the British team [...]

Bombshell by Mike Faricy follows the ‘misadventures’ of a PI Devlin Haskell. It seems that he is always at the wrong place at the wrong time. This time he finds himself amidst a roller derby scandal, where again that poor unfortunate thing is framed. Just when he thinks he’s out of one mess he’s faced with another. He needs to put his detective skills together and prove that he is innocent and maybe just stumble on to the right culprit. I love the Dev Haskell novels because they are just [...]

This is the fifth Dev Haskell book that I've read, and I've thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Once again, Dev is drawn to women who can get him in trouble. In this case it's a roller derby team from England. He's hired to protect the featured player because she has been receiving threats, mostly severed middle fingers. The usual cast of characters is also in the story, and Dev (as always) manages to get himself into plenty of trouble. The plot is good, the dialog is often funny. If you like private [...]

Having read and reviewed previous works of Mike Faricy, I jumped at the chance to review Bombshell. It was absolutely delightful. His books are action-packed and offer the reader a tantalizing ride full of mystery. With words in the book blurb like "crazy babe-magnet" PI and "gorgeous English roller derby stars", you just know you are in for a wild ride and Bombshell doesn't disappoint. Mike's books are well-written with great stories and loads of adventure that will keep you spell-bound and tur [...]

'Bombshell' is another great book in the 'Dev Haskell' series. I love how the storyline had Dev in the middle of another huge mess. The great thing about Dev is that he is consistently mucking things up, royally ticking off women and somehow solves cases in the meantime. His antics are hilarious and usually end up having the opposite effect he was going for. The characters were great. This is one of those series that I've grown to love. I look forward to reading more of Dev's adventures. A great [...]

Much better!Book 3 was confusing. What was the crazy woman's goal and why go back to drug Devlin in the end? Did I skip a chapter, did the reason accidentally get edited out? Did I care? It was painful and a little disappointing because I liked the first 2 books in this series. Needless to say, I wasn't sure about continuing the series. I decided to read one more book then decide. Glad I did.

Dev Haskell rides again!Very entertaining and attention getting. Hard to put it down. Mike Faricy has given us another memorable journey into the wacky world of Dev Haskell. The reveal is one of the "I should've thought of that" variety, but of course you didn't. Great PI series.

Dev scores a hitThe story grabs you right away and keeps on getting better. The dollar Derbyshire girls need security work and that's right up Dev's alley. After two girls get fire bombed in their hotel, the stakes get higher than what Dev thought they would. A fun book to read and well wrriten

Fast readI read the entire book simply to see whodunitme humor, but the main character was unrealistic with a ton of girlfriends and drinking all day long without it affecting his skills (except briefly when he woke up in the morning). I will pass on any others of this series.

Not My Cup of TeaBombshell was the first Dev Haskell - Private Investigator book I have read and I imagine it will be the last. I'm not a writer but I think I could do as well. It really left much to be desired and I don't believe it was because it was book 4 and I had not read the first 3. There was really just no substance.
