    I bought this after my visit to the Homestead and the Evergreens in spring 2011. As my camera had died midway through my trip and I needed pictures of the houses for my research, it seemed a happy coincidence to find this book in the gift shop. However, it was not until I read the essays and further examined the photos that I realized the true value of this amazing book. Each photo tells a story of the homes and the people who used to live there. One almost expects to see a specter of Emily or S [...]
