When his tire blown, and Bryn is stranded in on a long stretch of roadsomewhere in the White Mountains of Arizona, Will Riley comes offers him a place to stay. Will has a ranch and he is thinking of running it as a Bed and Breakfast too, like his mother used to do. Bryn used to run a small hotel with his lover for five years, before that partnership ended because his partner found somebody else. Since is looking for a job anyway, Bryn decides to accept Will's offer. But he gives Will one conditi [...]

1 star. Extra half for being free. Rounded up by GR system.Among the qualities of damsel in distress are she cannot save herself and she wants someone else come and help her. If there are two 'saviors' pinning for her, she wouldn't decide with whom she would like to be. She let them fight and sort it out for her. Just exactly what the character in this story does.(view spoiler)[According to Will, the ex tried to work on guilt with him. "As if it was my fault that he left," he said. Now, in light [...]

The writing is standard, nothing particularly worth nothing, and there's subsequently nothing to draw attention away from the really weak plot. MC #1, Bryn, breaks down and is rescued by MC #2, Will, a tall, dark, and handsome cowboy. They dance uncertainly around each other for a bit and then Will's ex, who left him six year ago out of unhappiness at the small-town life they were living, returns, and it's here the story falls apart. After six years, and considering how the relationship ended, o [...]

3.5*A nice slow development of the relationship between the MC's.I liked them both and I liked the setting, my only niggle was the ex! (view spoiler)[After 6 years and he didn't kick him out on his rear right away? I didn't get that, if my ex showed up after 6 years with a suitcase he wouldn't have a chance to set it down let alone get setteled into a room.I didn't think that was fair to Bryn, Will asks him to stay and build a life with him, yet let's him move back into his own room and doesn't [...]

This one is hard to rate. I liked the plot idea but in the end it was kinda boring. I didn't really understand the emotions between the MCs especially why Bryn thought about leaving. There was nothing that could explain his motivation. And then that thing with Will's ex. I don't even know what to say about that. It felt like there needed to be some drama in that story but the whole situation was just odd. Probably it was not the right kind if story for me or maybe it was the wrong time for it.

Ehh this just did not work out for me. It moved too fast, I did not feel atatched to either of the MCs. I really liked the last book I read by this author so I think I'll just forget I read this one.

  • Sarah

This was sweet and it was written well. Not a fan of cowboy stories but this one was good.

I love the strong, silent, cowboy types and Will was no exception! There was no “major” angst or drama to contend with, just a gentle build of emotions as Will and Bryn went from the stage of getting to know each other and moved beyond as feelings of desire built for more. The only real angst that came into play was when Will’s ex came back into the picture and I wished he would have handled things a bit more decisively. Regardless, by the end, I loved that Will became the gentle anchor th [...]

I liked the slow moving romance in this story. Bryn and Will make a great couple. What didn´t make this a 5 star read for me was that I didn´t really understad the way Will was acting when his ex came back. I really liked the dialogue. It felt real that neither of the guys talked a lot and in long and complicated sentences. They still managed to communicate through words and touches and closeness.A story that worked very well in short form.

A well-written story about 2 men finding a second chance at love when they least expect it. The story builds slowly yet it has a warmth to it, especially as the two men realize that they might have found a home for their heart in the other man.

Pretty good, nice writing style. Lost a couple of stars for Will being indecisive when Terry came back - Bryn deserves someone who knows without a doubt he wants to be with him, especially given that Terry was an asshole. How is there even a question for Will?

  • Helen Peter

Great story. Hated the ex and a little upset with Will for not kicking his ex out the door right away. Overall wonderful read.

Bryn has been wandering but it seems that maybe Will is the guy to give him a reason to settle and stay.

3.5 It took me a bit to get a feeling for the MCs, but once I did I was fully invested. Nice ending.

Sweet. Will was almost too good to be true :) Thank you S.A. Meade, for donating your time and talent.
