Had to do a quick re-read of this after I read Blue Fire and had to rant about housekeeping in HPs. This is a revenge story - a housekeeping as revenge story- be specific. The hero decides to teach the rich snob heroine a lesson by making her live like a peasant while they are on their honeymoon. The heroine is pretty awful at the beginning, but the reader (and the hero) come to respect her by the end. There are a lot of twists and turns which makes this a very fun read. The title refers to the t [...]

Re King of Swords - SC is back and continuing the theme of HPlandia June 1989, rich, society h learns some humility and becomes a better person because love fixes everything. This trope has been used before in both HPlandia - Violet Winspear was a master at it in Bride's Lace and Desire Has No Mercy. In HRtopia Mary Wibberley's The Wilderness Hut gives the trope a good run for it's money as well. But SC brings her own unique take to the trope and coupled with her very cruel H's, who fall in love [...]

3.5 stars If King of Swords was a play Act I, Hell Hath No Fury Like a Man ScornedSetting: England. Julia is a snob who's met a man who is not willing to put up with her contempt and greed (supposed), but she doesn't have a clue. They marry quickly in ambiguous circumstances, with neither discussing their exact reasons for marrying. For Julia, it's love for Alex even though she isn't aware of it yet and for Alex, it's revenge.Act II, How the Mighty Have FallenSetting: Deserted Greek island. Thei [...]

This was the first book I read by Sara Craven. It was in 2007 and I'm still remember some of the dialogues and scenes. The hero of this story is cold, but throughout the years I realized Julia needed to change, she wasn't humble and kind at the begining of the story. After I read Kiss an Angel by SEP, I noticed both stories have that one "main" thing in common. The rich girl who has to work :D

Pretty good old-skool Sara Craven. No flashbacks that I can recall, which seems to be something she favors. Also, no forced seduction for those bothered by that. The heroine was very spoiled, sheltered, and immature. She'd been raised as part of the landed gentry in England and, like many of her class, the ginormous house and lands were too hard to keep up in modern times. Also, her father was a terrible money manager and that didn't help either. When she realizes her father is going to sell the h [...]

This was a good read, but I think the hero should have groveled more in the end. Or something bad should have happened to her that made him freak out. Because yes, the heroine had appeared to say/believe some mean things about him, but he still pretty much kidnapped her and forced her into menial labor. I have no problem with that in HP-land, but I think a story like that is better balanced by some extreme groveling on the other end so that the romance isn't too one-sided.

this is definitely sara craven at her best! & i must thank Jasbell for this awesome recommendation! the hero and heroine had amazing chemistry; hot, sensual and scorching kinda! alexandros was delicious! the book was a 5 star for me but i minus a star bcoz he was a beast to her in argoli ! he treated her like trash. she was spoiled and vicious but not dat bad. she did not make it to my list of top bitches!

Me gustó mucho, nunca me había tocado leer una historia que se llevara a cabo en Grecia y me encantó la dramática historia de amor entre Julia y Alex; muy detallado, descriptivo y sin rodeos; excelente escritora!!

I hate the ending even though HE A. let me explain.julia, although quite spoiled and snobbish, punished so her pride was non existent. humiliated and rejected 2/3 of the book, and suddenly, what? she is in love? okay. fine. but to forgive that easily? unrealistic. seriously, even if there is love, non existence of pride will eat it till there's nothing left. so again, unrealistic.I would prefer it if her pride was vindicated. If Alex may have worked hard to restore it. if he groveled correctly. [...]

Okuduğum en güzel Harlequin'lerden biri.Alex'ın yaptıkları çok akıllıcaydı ve Genç Kız bu kadar akıllı olmasa bunların hiçbiri beceremezdi.Harika!Kesinlikle okunmaya değer bir kitap.
