This book is about my boss! How could I not enjoy reading about her background and the environment that fostered the creation of PHILADANCO . . . I found this to be a really interesting, thorough review of the culture and sub-cultures of the time; it was easy enough for a non-dance scholar like me to read and understand.

What I read of this book was extremely fascinating but it's written in a scholarly style that is dense and sometimes difficult to follow. With two small kids to chase, now is not the time to read this. I look forward to picking it up in the future.
