I am Canadian, and here are some strange personal facts I wore denim top to bottom in high school there is a direct inverse relationship between how much denim I wore and how few tongues were launched down my throat at school dancesor anywhere in high school at all A homeless lady in New York once told me You re just a bitch on vacation with no money I always hated those insufferable couples who would cuddle and make out on the subwayuntil I became half of one But now I m back to being none of one so I hate them again. The thing I love most in the world is writing When I first started publishing on it was my crazy humour side The Book of Awful, and NOT Love Poems For Real Life Since then, everything has focused on my Year of the Chick series, because it s the most important thing to me in the world right now I guess that would tend to happen, when your writing is inspired by real life, including all the satisfaction and risks that come from that.My Year of the Chick series can be described as edgy rom com, which helps me account for the blunt conversations and mortifying family moments in the book.Book 3 in the Year of the Chick series will be written and released in 2013 until then I have some adventures to go on Ways to interact E mail romimoondiwriter gmailPinterest pinterest romimoondiTwitter twitter romimoondiFacebook Author Page facebook RomiMoondiAu revoir Canada is a bilingual country, so I like to play that up Romi

Not at all bad for a Kindle freebie. I enjoyed the author's style enough that I will consider reading a novel of hers in the future.

  • G.E. Johnson

This quirky little mini-memoir was short, sweet, and funny. I enjoyed the great balance of snark and humor that shaped the tone of the book. The writing was also very descriptive. I could almost smell, see, and hear all of the sights, sounds and smells that the author described. Underneath the humor was a strong feeling of family unity and familial bonds which made the aunts, uncles, etc. who were mentioned in the story come to life. I would definitely read other work by this author.

It was meh. Nothing new, nothing interesting. Just an American born desi doing her usual bit or ranting. I got it for free from the Kindle Store and read it in one sitting, so it's short and a quick read that leaves you feeling glad it is, otherwise - imagine the wasted time!By the way, miss Canadian-India, 30-and-single, career-lady, there is NO double cream in gulab jamun.

Wanted something to read since Little Women had to be put on hold for a book clubose this via Pixel of Ink as a free optionMuch like reading a snappy travel blog, this book would have personally been more interesting had the writer been my friend and the story been presented on a blog with photos and such. As it was not presented in such a format, I was not overly impressed.

I thought this was truly bad. Too short, not engaging. The only plus side is that it's really, really short so it's only 45 minutes of my life wasted that I'll never get back. The writer has potential, just hasn't realized it here.

  • Sonja Arlow

Very short recollection of two trips to India, not very detailed or engaging

  • Tonya

    It was short, but fun!

  • Martha

    Also in Nook Archive.

  • Joyce Sparks

Fun and quick read. I enjoyed the sarcastic quips of the Americanized girl suffering through the customs of the country she no longer considers home.

  • Snookie

Loved the first book and this one also. Them certain moments when i was thinking thats sumthing I would have said

  • Jennifer Medina

This is one book I would have quite reading except that it was so short I was almost finished anyway.

Some very short but cute memoirs of little India in Toronto. They were appealing however the stories did not live up to my expectations.
